Enhanced Lifestyles

Enhanced Lifestyles Disability support the way it should be. By you, for you. Adelaide, Riverland and Limestone Coast.

Over thirty years ago, a group of people living with disability realised that no one was better equipped to choose the kind of support they needed than themselves. Honing their knowledge and skills, together they became architects and builders of their own individualised disability services. Today, Enhanced Lifestyles remains a member-governed not-for-profit, our Board is comprised of people who u

Real Conversations Matter 💬

Last night, Isaac, our Funding and Engagement Coordinator, attended a session hosted by the Breakthrough Mental Health Research Foundation—a powerful reminder of the importance of genuine connection.

A key takeaway was the need to move beyond surface-level check-ins and learn how to ask questions differently—creating space for more honest, meaningful conversations about how someone is really feeling.

Not a bad way to spend a Thursday night—enjoying pizza and genuine conversations focused on men’s mental health, alongside a room full of men from across the disability sector, plus Leah Stout from Plan Partners 💙

💛 Customer Spotlight: Making a Difference, One Cup at a Time ☕

A huge congratulations to Kymberleigh for her incredible generosity and ongoing support of the Biggest Morning Tea—now in her 6th year! 👏

She’s raised over $1,000 so far, and already $200 this year toward her $500 goal.

Kimberleigh’s devotion is deeply personal, “I lost my biological father to Hodgkin Cancer when I was 2 and half years old. I have been raising much needed funds for 6 years as I have lost several people I love to cancer. When I saw that I could receive a Biggest Morning Tea kit, I thought it was a fantastic idea and a great excuse to drink coffee or tea and eat delicious savoury and sweet food while supporting a great cause’’.

Her ongoing commitment to giving back is truly inspiring and a wonderful reminder of the impact one person can make.

Thank you, Kymberleigh, for making such a difference 💛

Positive Futures Expo – A Day of Connection and Community

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of attending the Positive Futures Expo at the City of Playford

Despite a very wet start to the morning, the energy throughout the event was incredibly positive. It was wonderful to connect with schools and teachers, meet members of the broader community, and catch up with many familiar faces from across the sector.

A special thank you to our Board Director Antonietta DiNiro and Executive Manager Operations Matt Stevens for joining us and supporting our team on the day. Your presence and engagement with the sector was greatly appreciated.

We were also inspired by:
✨ A meaningful Welcome to Country by Cliffy Wilson
✨ Insightful addresses from the Mayor Glenn Docherty and Acting Director The Office For Autism Sarah Kemp
✨ The amazing Icaspa.performers dance group, who brought great energy and had everyone moving and grooving.

Congratulations to the South Australian Council on Intellectual Disability Inc for taking out Most Interactive Stand—a well-deserved recognition!

Events like this highlight the power of connection, inclusion, and collaboration, and the important role we all play in supporting positive futures for our community.

Collaboration in Action 🤝

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of attending Collaboration in Action: Where NDIS Providers Connect, hosted by Metro Care Services, Ancora National, and Hireup.
It was an inspiring session that highlighted the power of collaboration, teamwork, and shared purpose across the NDIS sector.

Key highlights included:
• Connecting with fellow providers through interactive activities like connection bingo
• Sharing positive, real-world stories of collaboration delivering meaningful outcomes
• Celebrating the good work happening across the sector and the impact of strong partnerships

The event created a genuine sense of positivity and momentum, reinforcing how working collaboratively can lead to better outcomes and truly change people’s lives.

It was also fantastic to see that funds raised from the event were donated to charity—extending the impact beyond the day itself.

Thank you to the hosts for bringing providers together and creating such a valuable networking opportunity. We look forward to continuing to build strong, collaborative relationships across the sector.

Shining a Light on Awareness Days This May

There are many important awareness days recognised throughout May. This month, we’re taking the opportunity to highlight a couple of key dates that are especially significant for people with disability and the communities that support them.
These include:
💚 Mental Health Week
🧡 Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Day
🍰 Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea
🌐 Global Accessibility Awareness Day
🖤 National Sorry Day
💙 International Day for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities

Each of these days plays an important role in raising awareness, promoting inclusion, and encouraging meaningful conversations, whether it’s about accessibility, mental health, reconciliation, community connection, or the rights of people with disability.

By recognising these days, we help build understanding, challenge barriers, and create more inclusive communities where everyone feels valued and supported.

Let’s continue to learn, reflect, and take action, not just today, but every day. 🌟
