🌿 We're open to welcoming new Participant's in the Huon Valley and Kingborough!

We're happy to share that we currently have capacity to support new Participant's across the Huon Valley and Kingborough areas.

We have recently welcomed some fantastic Support Workers from these local areas to the SilaCa team, which means we're able to offer more reliable, flexible and person-centred support closer to home.

Whether you’re looking for support with community access, daily living, developing independence and life skills, household tasks, personal care, transport, or simply getting out and doing more of the things you enjoy, we'd love to have a chat about how we may be able to support you.

At SilaCa Tasmania, we know that the right support starts with finding the right people. We take the time to understand each Participant and work towards creating support arrangements that feel comfortable, consistent and genuinely suited to them.

We’re looking for a compassionate, reliable and flexible Disability Support Worker to join our team and provide individualised support to participants in the Clarence area.

This position includes supporting children and young people, with a focus on building independence, developing everyday skills, accessing the community and working towards individual goals.

We’d love to hear from someone who:

✨ Is compassionate, reliable and flexible
✨ Is confident working independently
✨ Builds positive and professional relationships
✨ Has strong communication and interpersonal skills
✨ Is committed to person-centred support
✨ Can regularly travel within the Clarence area
✨ Can provide reliable and ongoing availability

Experience supporting children and people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is highly regarded.

Essential Requirements:

✅ Current WWVP Registration – NDIS Endorsed
✅ NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
✅ Current Driver’s Licence
✅ Reliable vehicle with comprehensive motor vehicle insurance
✅ Current First Aid
✅ Current CPR
✅ Completed NDIS Worker Orientation Module

Another fun session at SilaCa Social!!

This time around, we rolled up our sleeves and made homemade pizzas from scratch 🍕. Everyone got involved - from preparing the dough (and, of course, enjoying the finished product 🤤).

Things then got a little competitive with a very serious game of Uno 😂. There was plenty of banter, lots of laughs and some determined players around the table.

We also brought out the bingo, and things got surprisingly tense when there was a special prize up for grabs! Everyone was on the edge of their seats waiting for thise final numbers, with one very happy winner taking hime the prize 🏆.

Another afternoon full of cooking, games, laughs and, most importantly, spending time together and building genuine friendships.

SilaCa Social is all about having somewhere to connect, have fun and be yourself - without any pressure.

We always look forward to the weekends we get to spend with Jess and we make every minute count.

This STA weekend spent with Jess included loads of things Jess loves - enjoying meals out, Moana at the cinemas, hunting for hidden treasures while op shopping, taking in the beautiful views from Kunanyi / Mt Wellington, and spending the day at Zoodoo meeting some very cute animals.

There were plenty of laughs, lots of smiles, and memories made from start to finish. It's always so special being able to share these weekends with Jess and seeing her enjoying these experiences.

Thanks for another wonderful weekend Jess. We can't wait for the next one!

What a great SilaCa Social session!

There was plenty happening today, with everyone getting involved in their own way. We cooked up chicken parmi's and chips for lunch, got creative designing personalised tote bags. and some of the group painted the air-dry clay creations they made at our previous session.

But SilaCa Social is about much more than what we make or cook. It's about creating opportunities to build social connections, practise social skills. try new things and spend time with others in a relaxed and supportive environment.

There were plenty of chats and laughs throughout the day, and it was great seeing everyone comfortable doing their own thing while still being part of the group.

Some appointments are just a little more special than others.

Whether it's a walk along the beach, stopping for a milkshake, or somply spending time together, Allanah absolutely loves catching up with Brooke.

It's so lovely to see the genuine connection they've built. Trust and meaningful relationships make such a difference, and we are incredibly grateful to have Brooke as part of Allanah's wider team, supporting her to achieve her goals in a way that feels safe, enjoyable and centred around what matters most to Allanah.

We know these catch-ups are the highlight of Allanah’s day...although we are not entirely convinced it's just the milkshakes! 🥤😁

🌿 A beautiful day out at Richmond! 🌿

Today Allanah enjoyed a relaxing outing taking in the beautiful scenery, watching the ducks on the river, and soaking up some fresh country air.

One of the highlights of the day was meeting a very friendly police officer and his gorgeous police dog, who stopped for a chat and happily posed for a photo with Allanah. It was such a lovely and unexpected moment that brought plenty of smiles.

Days like these are a great reminder that community participation isn't always about big adventures. Sometimes it's simply about getting out, exploring new places, making meaningful connections, and enjoying the little moments that make the day special.

We love supporting Allanah to experience all that our local community has to offer.
