🫟We're hiring Disability Support Workers!🫟

SilaCa Tas is looking for compassionate, reliable and person-centred Support Workers to join our growing team.

We currently have positions across:

📍Huonville
📍Hobart City
📍Eastern Shore

The successful applicants will support participants with a range of individual needs, goals and interests.
Duties may include community access, daily living support, household tasks, transport, skill development and helping participants remain active and connected within their communities.

These are casual positions involving shift work. Applicants must have flexible availability and be available to work weekends.

Some participants have specifically requested female support workers. Female applicants are therefore strongly encouraged to apply.

Essential requirements:

✅ Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
✅ Current driver's licence
✅ Reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance
✅ Current First Aid & CPR certificates
✅ NDIS Worker Orientation Module certificate
✅ Assist Clients with Medication certificate
✅ Strong communication and interpersonal skills
✅ Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
✅ Willingness to travel within the relevant service area

🏆 We didn't bring home the trophy...but we did get dressed up, leave the house after dark and get some lovely photos - so we are still calling it a win! 🤣

Being nominated for a Tasmanian Disability Award was an incredible honour, and we're genuinely so grateful to have been recognised alongside so many wonderful people and organisations.

SilaCa wouldn't be what it is without our wonderful participants and our amazing team of Support Workers.

To our participants - thank you for trusting us to be part of your lives, goals and adventures. You are the reason we do what we do.

To our team - thank you for the care, patience, humour and heart you bring to your work every single day. We see how much you give, and we couldn't be prouder of you.

And to our participants' families, carers and support networks - thank you for your trust, encouragement, honesty and ongoing support. Working alongside you is an absolute privilege.

We didn't take home the award - and honestly, we weren't expecting to among so many wonderful organisations doing incredible work throughout the community. Simply being nominated alongside them was an honour and something we are incredibly proud of.

The experience has left us even more inspired to keep growing, doing more and finding new ways to make a meaningful difference in the lives of people with disability.

🌿 We're open to welcoming new Participant's in the Huon Valley and Kingborough!

We're happy to share that we currently have capacity to support new Participant's across the Huon Valley and Kingborough areas.

We have recently welcomed some fantastic Support Workers from these local areas to the SilaCa team, which means we're able to offer more reliable, flexible and person-centred support closer to home.

Whether you’re looking for support with community access, daily living, developing independence and life skills, household tasks, personal care, transport, or simply getting out and doing more of the things you enjoy, we'd love to have a chat about how we may be able to support you.

At SilaCa Tasmania, we know that the right support starts with finding the right people. We take the time to understand each Participant and work towards creating support arrangements that feel comfortable, consistent and genuinely suited to them.

We’re looking for a compassionate, reliable and flexible Disability Support Worker to join our team and provide individualised support to participants in the Clarence area.

This position includes supporting children and young people, with a focus on building independence, developing everyday skills, accessing the community and working towards individual goals.

We’d love to hear from someone who:

✨ Is compassionate, reliable and flexible
✨ Is confident working independently
✨ Builds positive and professional relationships
✨ Has strong communication and interpersonal skills
✨ Is committed to person-centred support
✨ Can regularly travel within the Clarence area
✨ Can provide reliable and ongoing availability

Experience supporting children and people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is highly regarded.

Another fun session at SilaCa Social!!

This time around, we rolled up our sleeves and made homemade pizzas from scratch 🍕. Everyone got involved - from preparing the dough (and, of course, enjoying the finished product 🤤).

Things then got a little competitive with a very serious game of Uno 😂. There was plenty of banter, lots of laughs and some determined players around the table.

We also brought out the bingo, and things got surprisingly tense when there was a special prize up for grabs! Everyone was on the edge of their seats waiting for thise final numbers, with one very happy winner taking hime the prize 🏆.

Another afternoon full of cooking, games, laughs and, most importantly, spending time together and building genuine friendships.

SilaCa Social is all about having somewhere to connect, have fun and be yourself - without any pressure.

We always look forward to the weekends we get to spend with Jess and we make every minute count.

This STA weekend spent with Jess included loads of things Jess loves - enjoying meals out, Moana at the cinemas, hunting for hidden treasures while op shopping, taking in the beautiful views from Kunanyi / Mt Wellington, and spending the day at Zoodoo meeting some very cute animals.

There were plenty of laughs, lots of smiles, and memories made from start to finish. It's always so special being able to share these weekends with Jess and seeing her enjoying these experiences.

Thanks for another wonderful weekend Jess. We can't wait for the next one!
