I think we ALL need this reminder today✨

If you’re struggling with motivation right now, you’re not alone.

Life is heavy sometimes.

Hormones, illness, sleepless nights, grief, stress, winter blues... they all impact our energy, confidence and ability to show up.

- That doesn’t make you lazy
- That doesn’t mean you’re making excuses
- And it definitely doesn’t mean you’re failing

Every time you choose to start again, you’re winning 👏🏼

Whether you’ve missed a few days, a few weeks, or even longer—progress isn’t about perfection. It’s about coming back when you can. Every little bit counts 🤸🏻‍♂️

Be kind to yourself.
Keep talking.
Keep supporting each other. Keep showing up however that looks for you right now.

I’m here to help!

Check out our Fit over 45 crew 💪🏼

This week alone I’ve heard stories of:
✅ Relatives noticing newfound bicep definition 😂
✅ Women smashing steep overseas walks and endless stairs
✅ Clients lifting and carrying things independently that they couldn’t manage before

These are the wins that matter 🥳

Not the number on the scales.
Not the perfect workout.
Not chasing perfection.

Real-life strength. Confidence. Independence.

One of my favourite things about coaching women over 45 is watching them realise they’re capable of so much more than they thought possible.

Because getting older doesn’t mean getting weaker.

Improvement is always possible 💙

The work continues 👊🏼

Lots of focus on single-leg strength, lateral movement, and anti-rotational core work as we build towards Rotterdam. Adding plenty of explosive power work too, helping with agility, change of direction, and that extra speed needed to chase players down on the pitch.

A considerable bunion on my left foot causes some functional issues, especially with balance, so we’re putting extra attention into strengthening my calves and big toes (both feet). Hopefully that helps settle my hip pain too 👏🏼

Back is behaving 🤫

I’ve also adjusted to having two full rest days each week — and honestly, my body is loving it!

Getting excited now...

Just because you CAN, doesn’t mean you SHOULD (same applies postpartum).

Exercise during pregnancy isn’t about hitting PBs or pushing through at all costs—it’s about adapting, adjusting, and moving with intension - setting you up for long term success.

Research continues to show that appropriate exercise during pregnancy can help improve strength, reduce aches and pains, support mental wellbeing, and prepare your body for birth and recovery.

At Strongwomen, we support women through every season of life—whether you’re preparing for pregnancy, currently pregnant, navigating postpartum, moving through peri-menopause, or simply wanting to feel stronger, healthier, and more capable in everyday life.

Our coaches are qualified to work with pregnant and postnatal women, providing safe, evidence-based training that evolves with your changing body and individual needs.

Because every woman deserves to feel strong, capable, and supported—wherever she is on her journey ✨

As busy women juggling the mental load of remembering which child needs a gold coin donation on which day, and the logistics of coordinating school drop-offs, sports training, work schedules, appointments, and somehow getting dinner on the table, we need to get comfortable with progress over perfection.

As women, we’re actually masters of adapting. We start, stop, restart, pivot, and keep going. It’s what we do.

At Strongwomen, we understand the reality of life—the sickness, the last-minute appointments, the surprise phone calls from school, and the unexpected “can you come into work?” requests.

That’s why we don’t lock you into contracts or memberships.
✅ All classes are casual✅ No lock-in commitments✅ Zero cancellation fees

We offer supportive group training for all ages, stages, and fitness levels—challenging those who want to be pushed, supporting those who need extra guidance, and providing education and resources around all things women’s health.

Because exercise isn’t just about what you can do today or how you look —it’s about building a body that supports you for years to come.

Whether your goal is to feel confident carrying the groceries, keeping up with your kids, entering that race or comp, staying independent as you age, or being strong enough to run after the grandkids one day, every workout is an investment in your future self.

Whether you’re currently pregnant, returning to exercise after babies, rebuilding confidence, or simply looking for a welcoming community, we’re here to help.

Our full timetable and class information is available on our website.

Start where you are. Adjust when you need to. Keep showing up.
That’s how progress happens. 💙

48 days til Rotterdam. 7 weeks… eek! 🏑🇳🇱

I may have found myself at a loose end last night — kids’ hockey cancelled, me at home in my slippers — ended up watching a movie which was nice.

My week looked like:
Sunday: hockey x 2, sauna + movies with a friend
Monday: rest day
Tuesday: hockey training + reformer Pilates
Wednesday: gym
Thursday: rest day
Friday: gym
Saturday: hockey clashes with work, so maybe a bike ride
Sunday: bike ride + hockey game

Nutrition and sleep have been solid. Pre-training fuel still needs some work.

Energy’s been pretty steady overall, although I definitely felt tired by the end of the week. Body’s holding up well too — no major back flare-ups.

The biggest lesson lately? Rest days matter. It’s still hard for me mentally because I’m not great at doing “nothing,” but I think it’s been the game changer tbh.

Work and kids are busy as always, but we’re making it work.

Consistency over perfection. 💪

Even as an exercise professional, it’s good to hand over the reins sometimes.

After a stint at Kieser to reset and manage my body, I’m stoked to be back training at 💪

And now with Reformer at Hype? Strength, conditioning, mobility + recovery all under one roof. What a combo 🔥

Living on the Eastern Shore just keeps getting better. 🙌
