The altar is a centrepoint, a place to invite-in and honour the guardians and Ancestors - the beings who are actually the healers. My role is simply a compassionate presence, a conscious witness, and a crystal clear conduit to focus on what is happening beneath the layers of story.
I gather so much joy from creating these sacred shrines, and right now feel like I'm being invited into learning some of their hidden depths.
(Perhaps I could also do with learning the hidden depths of phone-videography :D :D)
Calling all healers and therapeutic practitioners! Let's gather and share the tips and tricks that make running a healing practice feasible. Guest Speaker: Calista, of Stillwell Therapies, sharing about the importance of mentorship.

Sometimes the words just come tumbling out, and sometimes I'm lucky enough to catch them on a recording like this.
This was after a huge day of profound earth energy weaving.
From the Schwarzwald, Deutschland, just outside Freiburg.

Mahalo Nui @manaokahiko for teaching this ancient wisdom and ancestral practice.
It was an utter privilege to share this performance piece at @woodfordfolkfestival: “Listening as Earth’s Body” - a journey of sound and words decomposing into our deep relationship with this planet.
It was also a delight to remember I play the flute! Keen to brew up some more musical poetical collaborations over this year. Stay tuned!
There's something in this program that touches people very deeply. As of, offering permission and tools to listen with our bodies, hearts, and souls, opens us up to the essence from which music emerges. We had folks who'd never listened to classical music before revealing in its depth, and classical aficionados who heard music in a whole new light. Thank you to all you beautiful souls who journeyed with us!! Until we meet again!
The Red Room Poetry Tasmanian Showcase was such a wholesome delight! Thanks for having me :D
psst, if you know the Longley Waterhole near nipaluna, you might recognise this poem... (although, I reckon if you've known any river ever, you might recognise this poem).

For all those who wonder where my stories come from, and how they arise... This is it!!! A story being birthed in real time.
This clip is of me being in awe and just letting words emerge. I had no sense of the story before this moment, no practicing or pre-formulation of intent. Perhaps this is a form of improvisation, but it's something much deeper than that. I think this snippet of a story had been gestating over the day, as I let myself lie in the rain, be a tired blob on top of moss, be utterly and literally windswept away by a waterfall pounding vast volumes of water, and acrobat myself through a path-turned-river.
So, this may or may not turn into a story. It's certainly only the beginnings of an idea right now. But almost all of my creative process comes from these places - deep visceral immersion in the language of land. And sometimes, words want to emerge, pushing themselves up and out of my body. Sometimes, a whole story or poem emerges. And then the next day, or the next week, I go back to it, and speak it again, and again, and again, changing it a fraction each time, until I feel like I've massaged the form into something coherent enough to give justice to the special gift of essence the land has offered up to share.
