The Understanding the NDIS webinars are national information sessions outlining NDIS roles, responsibilities and processes. They help participants and communities understand, access and navigate the scheme. Facilitated by the NDIS Community Engagement team, the series covers a range of topics to build knowledge and confidence:

• Supporting an NDIS Participant - 10 Sep
• NDIS Assistive technology - 16 Sep
• Home and Living Supports - 22 Sep
• Using your NDIS plan - 14 Oct
• Pathways to post school life - 22 & 27 Oct

The sessions are for NDIS participants, carers, families and kin, plus supporting services such as advocacy organisations, peer support networks and carers' groups.

Asthma Australia is putting women’s health in the spotlight during Asthma Week 2026 (1-7 September) with its powerful campaign, She Needs to Breathe.

While asthma affects people of all ages and genders, girls and women experience a disproportionate burden of the condition. After puberty, asthma becomes more common in females, with women experiencing higher rates of hospitalisation throughout adulthood and more than twice the number of asthma-related deaths compared to men.

Unlock Sport, Friendship and Fun with Ticket to Play

The Tasmanian Government’s Ticket to Play program is helping eligible young Tasmanians get involved in sport and active recreation by reducing the cost of club memberships and registration fees, the program provides two vouchers worth up to $100 each for eligible children and young people aged 5–18, making it easier for families to access the many benefits of staying active.

Applications are open until 28 May 2027 or when all vouchers have been issued

The University of Melbourne is looking for parents and carers of children aged 2-8 years with extra learning or developmental needs to help shape a new family physical activity program.

Through the Together We Move study, families can share their experiences via online workshops, focus groups, or one-on-one interviews. Your feedback will help create a program that better supports families across Australia.
