WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT | A big congratulations to our team members who have graduated from the Emerging Leaders Program with The Real Learning Experience.

The program supports staff who are not yet in formal management roles to build their skills, confidence and leadership capability.

Over the past few months, the group has taken part in face-to-face workshops across Hobart and Launceston, alongside personalised one-on-one coaching. Together, these sessions explored leadership foundations, influencing people and change, self-awareness, and working effectively within teams.

One of the program’s graduates, Neil, shared: "The Emerging Leaders program was time well spent, leading to plenty of professional (and personal) growth. Two keys takeaways for me were: different leadership styles and when to use/not use, and the importance of influence and how to develop it. The diversity of backgrounds and experience in the group contributed to rich discussion and exploration."

It’s been fantastic to see the growth of this group over the course of the program. We’re proud of what they have achieved and look forward to the impact they will continue to make at Primary Health Tasmania.

NEW RESOURCE | A great new resource from Health Consumers Tasmania!

If something doesn't feel right about your healthcare experience, It's OK to Say – A Healthcare Rights and Complaints Resource for Tasmanians can help you better understand your rights and the options available to raise concerns, provide feedback or seek support.

Find out more below.

It’s OK to Say – A healthcare rights and complaints resource is now available.

We have a range of paper and online resources to help Tasmanians better understand healthcare rights and what steps you can take if you need to take it further.

Navigating health complaints can be complex and challenging and we hope this resource will help Tasmanians feel more confident to know what to do and where they can go to take it further.
Designed by Tasmanians, for Tasmanians, the online tool takes you through each of the steps, asking you information about your experience and provides recommendations on where to go next.

BOWEL CANCER SCREENING | Bowel cancer is the second most commonly diagnosed cancer and the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths in Tasmania.

Bowel Cancer Awareness Month highlights the importance of early detection and screening in improving outcomes for people at risk.

A bowel screening test is easy to do at home. The National Bowel Cancer Screening Program's free screening kit can help find bowel cancer early or before symptoms appear, when over 90% of cases can be treated successfully.

Eligible people aged 45 to 49 can request their first bowel cancer screening kit be mailed to them, and people aged 50 to 74 will continue to receive a bowel cancer screening kit in the mail every two years.
