We’re delighted to introduce our Glimmers Connection Group, fortnightly on Thursdays at the Peacock Centre.

It’s an opportunity to meet new people, build friendships, and enjoy spending time together. For some of us, it may be a way to overcome loneliness and navigate mental health challenges through connection with others.

Together we reduce stigma with kindness and belonging.

The National Mental Health Commission's 2025 Report Card released today, shows that demand for mental health support remains high, but so do the barriers to accessing it.

Tasmania needs more than crisis services. We need strong community-based supports that help people stay well, seek help earlier, and access the right support before they reach crisis point.

Investing in prevention, promotion, early intervention and community-managed mental health services improves lives, strengthens communities, and helps reduce pressure on an already stretched health system.

MHCT will continue advocating for the mental health needs of all Tasmanians, because no matter who we are, what we do, or where we live, we all deserve the opportunity to live our best lives and thrive.

National Report Card 2025 brings together information about mental health outcomes, the factors that affect wellbeing, and the services that support people with mental health challenges.

POLL: Do Tasmanians talk about the weather more than any other state? 🌥️

In Tasmania, the weather can change pretty quickly, and so can how we’re feeling.

Whatever the Weather uses the weather as a simple way to help young people talk about mental health and wellbeing, understand where they’re at, and find a place to start.

We're excited to officially launch Whatever the Weather, a new youth mental health pilot project, helping young Tasmanians find support that fits! 🎉

Co-designed with young people and those who support them, the project uses the familiar concept of weather to create a shared language for talking about mental health, making it easier to know when and where to start looking for support.

“Mental health can change from one day to the next, or even within the same day, a bit like Tasmanian weather. This gives young people a simple way to talk about how they’re feeling and what support might help.” – Charlotte Loring, member of the youth co-design group.

A big thank you to the Hon. Bridget Archer, Minister for Health, Mental Health & Wellbeing, who joined us today to help unveil the 12-month statewide pilot! Aimed at young people aged 15–24, Whatever the Weather includes a website, videos, posters, brochures, and other digital and printed resources. 💚💙
