Menopause care isn't about choosing sides
One of the biggest misconceptions I see is the idea that women have to choose between lifestyle changes or hormone therapy.

The truth is, these approaches aren't competing. They often work best together.

For some women, improving sleep, nutrition, exercise and stress management may make a significant difference. For others, hormone therapy can be an important part of managing symptoms. Many women benefit from a combination of both, along with psychological support where needed.

There isn't one "right" way to navigate menopause.

The goal isn't to follow a philosophy. The goal is to find an approach that is safe, evidence-based, and tailored to your symptoms, your health, and your priorities.

Because good menopause care isn't either/or. It's individualised.

New on the blog: Menopause Hormone Therapy — what’s approved and what the evidence shows.

Many women experience symptoms during perimenopause, well before their periods have fully stopped. This can make treatment discussions feel confusing, especially when regulatory approval, clinical evidence, and individual symptoms do not always fit neatly into one box.

In this blog, Jenna explores the difference between approved use and evidence-informed care, why MHT may sometimes be discussed in perimenopause, and why treatment decisions should always be individualised.

You’ll also find a clear overview of what current evidence says about symptoms, treatment options, and the importance of shared decision-making with a qualified health professional.

Happy Mother’s Day 💐

Today we celebrate mothers in all their forms: the mothers who nurture every day, the chosen mothers who love and care for children they did not birth, the dedicated mothers who give so much of themselves, and the mothers holding love for a child who is not with them today.

We honour the care, strength, wisdom and support mothers bring to their families, communities and society as a whole.

Wishing you a gentle, meaningful and wonderful Mother’s Day.

The scale measures total weight.

It does not measure:
• Lean muscle mass
• Visceral fat
• Fat distribution
• Metabolic function

Midlife change is often about redistribution and muscle preservation.

If you rely solely on the scale, you may miss what is actually shifting.
Understanding body composition allows for a more strategic response.

Not punishment.
Not panic.
Perspective.

Lest we forget. 🇦🇺

This morning at Kingston Beach, I stood alongside my best friend Kelly at the dawn service, reflecting, remembering, and honouring the courage, sacrifice, and resilience of all who have served.

Having served in the Air Force, ANZAC Day holds a deeply personal meaning for me. It is a time to pause and acknowledge not only the bravery of those who came before us, but also the quiet strength we carry in our own lives.

Resilience can take many forms, especially through life transitions, challenges, and change. In midlife, it may look like adapting, seeking support, and continuing to show up for ourselves and those around us.

Today is a reminder of the power of connection, community, and reflection.

Lest we forget. ❤️
