You may have seen my story last night about the holiday juggle…

Today, Tully joined me for her first meeting with Jarrod Mangione from O Cosmedics.

Bunny came too, naturally.

And it got me thinking about the beauty of working alongside supportive women. Women who understand the juggle, welcome your little person and make you feel comfortable bringing your two worlds together. So lucky for my beautiful team.

Being a mum and running a business can be a lot sometimes. Having people around me who make room for both means so much.

I hope she grows up remembering the women who welcomed her into Mum’s world, and becomes someone who does the same for others.

She was an absolute legend!

Once, I was the small business without a shopfront.

Last week, a beautiful conversation with a client about the stunning pieces she creates made me look at our space a little differently. White Sage began in a home salon in Battery Point over twelve years ago, and I’ve never forgotten how much it means when someone sees what you’ve built and supports it.

So we’re bringing something to life. The Maker Edit is a small, curated collection of Tasmanian makers, finding a home on our shelves this Christmas. Jewellery, ceramics, candles, art and homewares, made with heart and ready to gift.

There’s no judgement here. Everyone does what they need to do, and sometimes people simply don’t know there’s another way.

The thing I’d love you to know is this. When we treat only the surface, we can miss what’s happening underneath. Your skin is your largest organ, and it often reflects what’s going on in the rest of your body. What you’re eating, your environment, stress, how your body is coping overall. When things are under pressure, your skin is often where it shows.

If this has been you, constantly swapping products, finally getting your skin to a good place and then living in fear of it going back, we’d love to help.

This is the part of White Sage I’ve been so excited to bring to life.

A place where people come together. Where we can learn from each other, build connections and find support.

I’ve been working behind the scenes with some incredible people on events and workshops, and tomorrow I get to share the first of them with you.

When I imagined White Sage, this was always part of it. Seeing people gather here and knowing what we have coming makes me so excited for this chapter.

And perhaps you have something you’ve been wanting to bring to life, too.

What do you wish was available in Hobart? What could you share that people need? Maybe you have the knowledge, the passion and an idea that keeps coming back to you, but you haven’t had the space to make it happen.

I caught a glimpse of the shop in a video today and just stopped.

Wow. This is mine.

I think when you’re in it every day, you forget. You see the jobs that need doing, the things you want to change, everything you’re still working towards.

But today I saw the place I’d dreamed about. The team, the community, all these things I’d hoped to create for so long. And here they are. Part of my everyday life.

It made me a bit teary, actually.

I still have so much I want to do. But I want to take a moment to appreciate this too.

Maybe have a look through your camera roll. Or just stop and look around you.

There might be something in your everyday life now that a younger version of you would be pretty amazed by.

Sometimes you just want to ask someone who knows skin, “Where do I even start?”

I think about this a lot. There is so much information out there, and even working in this industry, I can see how overwhelming it would be trying to work out what applies to you.

You’ve got a cupboard full of skincare, saved posts recommending completely different things, and another treatment popping up that apparently everyone needs.

It’s a lot. And I don’t want people to feel they have to figure it all out before they come to us.

So we’ve introduced Guidance Sessions as part of our consultation pathways at White Sage.

They’re for anyone who has been curious about working with us but isn’t quite ready to book, or would like some help understanding where to begin.

You fill out a form on our website, tell us a little about your skin and what you’d like help with, and myself or one of our beautiful skin therapists will get back to you personally with some guidance and a suggested starting point.

No pressure to book. You’re welcome to ask for help while you’re still deciding whether we’re the right fit.

One of my goals for White Sage has always been to make our expertise more accessible. We have so much knowledge within this team, and I want more people to benefit from it.

A big part of our work is helping you understand your skin. Why we’re recommending something, what we’re working towards, and what you can realistically expect.

And sometimes that means saying, “Let’s simplify this first.”

I love what advanced treatments can do when they’re appropriate. But good skin care still comes back to understanding how your skin functions and choosing things that serve a purpose for you. You don’t need everything you see online.

I’m really proud of this little addition to how we care for you. It gives us a chance to meet you where you’re at, even if that’s just a few questions and no idea what comes next.

This was always part of the dream.

When I first imagined White Sage, I pictured a space where people could come together. To care for themselves, learn something meaningful and feel connected to the people around them.

A place for skin, certainly, but also for everything you’ve seen slowly become part of what we do here.

After hosting a couple of beautiful, successful classes, I’m so excited to nurture this part of White Sage further. And with the wonderful team I now have around me, I finally have the space to give it the attention it deserves.

I feel we need this more than ever. Opportunities to step out of our busy lives, come back to ourselves and learn how to care for ourselves with a little more understanding. To spend time together, in person.

So, we’d love to hear from instructors, practitioners and facilitators looking for somewhere beautiful to host their work.

Yoga, mat Pilates, breathwork, sound baths, health and wellbeing workshops, educational courses and thoughtful gatherings. Whether you’re planning a one-off experience or looking for a regular home for your classes, we’re open to a conversation.

This next chapter means so much to me. It’s something I’ve held in mind from the very beginning, and seeing it come to life feels pretty special.
