Strong calves do more than help you push up onto your toes

Your calf muscles play an important role in walking, climbing stairs, balance, and helping generate power for movements like running and jumping. They can also be an important focus during rehabilitation for calf, ankle and Achilles injuries.

Here are 3 calf raise variations to progressively build calf strength:
🔷Level 1: Double leg calf raise
🔷Level 2: Split stance calf raise
🔷Level 3: Single leg calf raise

The right starting point will depend on your strength, balance and goals, so remember to progress at your own pace.

If calf weakness, lower limb pain or injury is slowing you down, our physiotherapists can help guide your rehabilitation and strength progression.

Tea, treats, and a great cause ☕💛

Recently, our Taylors Lakes team took part in **Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea**, helping raise awareness and support for those impacted by cancer.

It was a lovely opportunity to come together, enjoy a cuppa, and support an important cause that touches so many people in our community.

A big thank you to everyone who supported the event.

Progressive strength training is not just about lifting more, it is about progressing safely, with the right guidance.

Progressive strength training helps your body adapt safely over time. Whether you are recovering from injury, rebuilding after surgery, managing pain, or working towards better movement, your exercises should match where your body is at now and progress as you improve.

That is where physiotherapy-led rehab can help.

Our physiotherapists can guide you through structured exercise programs designed to build strength, improve control, support recovery and reduce the risk of setbacks. In a gym-based rehab setting, we can adjust load, technique and exercise difficulty to help you move forward with confidence.
Small, consistent progress can make a big difference.

Book an appointment with our physiotherapy team to get started with a tailored rehab plan.

Learning from the latest research and clinical insights

Recently, our Symmetry Physiotherapy team came together for a Symmetry-wide professional development session presented by Aidan Rich, focusing on the diagnosis and management of proximal hamstring tendinopathy.

Aidan shared valuable insights into assessment, treatment considerations, and emerging research in this area, helping our team continue to build knowledge and stay up to date with current evidence.

At Symmetry Physiotherapy, ongoing professional development plays an important role in helping our team continue to deliver informed, high-quality care to our clients.

A big thank you to Aidan for sharing his time, expertise, and insights with our team.
