“What’s the difference between Myotherapy and Remedial Massage?”
This is one of the questions I get asked ALL the time at Northern Remedy, so let’s break it down! 🤍
💆🏼♀️ REMEDIAL MASSAGE
Remedial massage focuses on treating muscular tension, soreness and discomfort using hands-on techniques to help relieve tight muscles, improve circulation and support recovery.
It’s a great option if you’re feeling tight, sore, stressed or simply need some relief from everyday aches and pains.
🌿 MYOTHERAPY
Myotherapy takes a more comprehensive approach to musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction. It involves assessing how your body moves and functions, identifying contributing factors, and developing a treatment approach tailored to your needs.
Treatment may include a combination of hands-on techniques, trigger point therapy, dry needling, cupping, stretching, movement advice and other techniques depending on your individual presentation.
It looks beyond the sore spot to consider what might be contributing to your discomfort and how we can work towards improving your overall function.
🤍 SO, WHICH ONE IS RIGHT FOR YOU?
Both treatments can help with muscular pain, tension and recovery. The best option depends on your symptoms, goals and what your body needs.
At Northern Remedy, my goal is to provide individualised treatment that helps you feel better, move better and understand your body a little more.
Whether you're after targeted treatment for a niggling injury or simply need some time to relax and reset, we've got you covered! ✨
