The Mood Lifter

The Mood Lifter Personal Training, NLP Coach, NLP Practitioner, Time Line Therapy, Hypnotherapy, Breath Work Facilit

I am going to get straight to the point and explain where 'The Mood Lifter' comes from. I have been struggling with my mental health since I was a teenager. I've seen numerous therapists, psychologist and have even been on medication. It definitely has not been an easy ride, but it has been a ride that I am extremely grateful for. Without my personal experience with depression, anxiety and OCD, I

would not be the person I am today. The Mood Lifter story started in 2016 when I started my Personal Training course. Being a PT was absolutely crucial for me as I wanted to share the affect of exercise on your mental health with as many people as possible. Over the years I learned many other tools that benefit people's mental health. What can I help you with?
💙Personal Training - Creating an online or in-person exercise program that suits you

The fitness world loves to tell you that walking doesn't count.

That it's the bare minimum.
That you should be doing more.
That if you're not sweating, suffering or smashing out intense workouts, you're not really exercising.

I disagree.

Not everyone needs intense workouts.
Not everyone wants to train six days a week.

And for some mums, a walk with the pram is all they have the capacity for today.

That's still movement.
That's still looking after yourself.
And yes, it still counts.

Stop measuring your worth by how hard you exercise.

Movement is movement.
Your body doesn't know whether it came from a gym, a fitness class or a walk around the block with a toddler who stopped every three metres to look at a stick.

Losing a dog is one of the hardest things to go through. It comes with guilt, sadness, and this pressure to just “get on with it.”

When we lose humans, we take time off work. People check in. People understand.

When we lose dogs, we’re made to feel like it was “just a dog.”

But grief is grief.

I’ve had my fair share of it. I lost my sister. I know what grief feels like. I know it doesn’t just disappear because life keeps moving.

And I am absolutely shattered.

I hate being home. I hate coming home. I hate cleaning the floor after the kids have eaten because you’re not there waiting underneath their chairs anymore.

I hate not walking you to the park with the kids.

I hate how quiet everything feels without you in it.

“Women after giving birth:
‘Can’t wait to feel like myself again.’

Then suddenly everyone has an opinion.
Go back to work too soon? Guilty.
Take time for yourself? Guilty.
Go to the gym? Guilty.
Don’t go to the gym? Also guilty.

Mums are expected to give everything to everyone, then feel selfish for wanting one tiny piece of themselves back.
Maybe wanting to feel strong, confident, rested and mentally okay again isn’t selfish.
Maybe it’s human.

Women really grow, birth and raise entire humans… then feel guilty for taking ONE hour to themselves.

One hour to move their body.
One hour without being touched.
One hour to feel strong instead of just needed.

Somehow mums are expected to pour from an empty cup and smile while doing it.
Taking care of yourself isn’t selfish.

Your kids are watching everything.

They watch how you speak about yourself.
How you treat your body.
How you prioritise everyone else while running yourself into the ground.

And maybe this is controversial… but being a “good mum” shouldn’t require complete self abandonment.
Your children do not benefit from a mother who is constantly exhausted, touched out, burnt out and surviving on caffeine and guilt.

Taking care of yourself is not selfish.
Moving your body is not selfish.
Wanting time for yourself is not selfish.
Your kids deserve to see a mother who values herself too. 🤍

One gives me a headache.
One gives me patience.

One empties my bank account.
One stops me losing my mind at 4pm when someone cries because their banana broke in half.

This isn’t about ‘bouncing back.’
It’s about feeling strong, sane, confident and like a human again.

And honestly?
An uninterrupted workout is basically a luxury spa retreat for mums. 😂”

SIP AND SING was a vibe! Best way to celebrate my 34th birthday coming up! 💙💙

We all needed a girls night to let our hair down and sing our little hearts out 😂.
My face still hurts from all the laughter!
