Kura Support recently attended The Silver Ball Innisfail Masquerade Gala.
What originally was a plan of buying a couple of tables to reward some of our staff for outstanding performance, quickly turned into something much more personal.
The Silver Ball is an event to raise money for The Mark Hughes Foundation to fund brain cancer research. A very special person on our team, very recently lost someone close to them, due to this insidious disease.
So we were more determined then, to rally our support and help raise funds for a very worthy cause.
We were blessed and proud to have won quite a few of the auctions that night.
One of the prizes, went to our team member currently navigating the grief of losing someone due to brain cancer, and we will be donating our win of the signed Legends of League jersey and football, to Mundoo State School for their upcoming cent sale.

Kura Support is not just about providing support to our participants, but also throwing our support behind our wider community also.
Thank you, to the committee of The Silver Ball Innisfail, for putting together such a wonderful event and allowing us to be a part of such a worthy cause.

Our participant, John, his support worker, Donna, recently enjoyed an outing to the beach and took advantage of the beautiful weather before the rain came back.
John has been working hard with his team of carers lately to further develop his independent living skills, so a trip to the beach was a nice and rewarding change after all of his hard work lately. We are proud of your progress, John! Keep up the great work. 😊

You know life is grand, and busy, full of fun and spent doing what you love, when it's your birthday and you don't realise until a week later that you've missed it. 🤣

Kura Support recently turned 3! 🥳
What a wonderful 3 years it has been! We have grown quickly, but our core values have always remained the same.
Person centred care, delivering exceptional support, to exceptional individuals, by exceptional carers. 😊

We love who we are and what we do, but none of this would have been possible without the support from all of you. So we'd like to take this opportunity to say thank you firstly, to our staff members. Our success can largely be attributed to you and your commitment and dedication to providing high levels of support to our participants. ❤️

We'd like to thank our participants for allowing us into their homes, their lives, their families, and letting us share in the highs and the lows, the achievements and the setbacks. It is a privilege to be able to offer our services to you and we thank you for allowing us to do so. ❤️

We'd also like to thank all of the stakeholders we work alongside to provide the best care possible to our participants. We are blessed to have formed some incredible relationships with some incredible organisations in this region. We appreciate you!

When you live in FNQ you adapt, you don't wait for the rain to pass, you learn to dance in the rain. Similarly if you live in FNQ you learn to love fishing, and rain hail or shine, if your a keen fisherman/woman, you will find a way to cast a line and enjoy what this beautiful region has to offer. 😊

That is exactly what Yvonne and her SW Skye did recently on their community access outing. 🎣
