🎨 Garden of the Mind Art Competition

Central Coast Supported Independent Living (SIL) participant Vivien is an incredibly talented artist who loves exploring different styles and creating all kinds of artwork.

Recently, Vivien put her creativity to work and created this stunning mixed media piece to enter into the Garden of the Mind Art Competition. If you’d like to show your support for Vivien, you can vote for her artwork online.

A big thank you to Regional Australia Bank and local members for supporting Brighter Access through their Community Partnership Program.

This year, we were incredibly proud to receive over $10,000. This generous funding boost playing a vital role in supporting people with disability to live more independently, while creating opportunities for inclusion and connection within our community.

Brighter Access has been part of the Inverell community for 47 years, and we feel incredibly fortunate to continue experiencing the generosity, encouragement and support of our town.

A special thank you to the team at the Regional Australia Bank Inverell branch for always being so welcoming and helpful, and to everyone in our local community who continues to support the work we do.

✨ Tamworth Links For Life Disability Expo

Come visit us next Thursday at the Links for Life Disability Expo in Tamworth. Our local team will be behind the Brighter Access both to meet you all and share valuable information about the amazing services we offer across the New England region.

We'll be highlighting Supported Independent Living (SIL) and Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) vacancies, while asking you a simple but meaningful question: What makes a house a home? We want to know!

Central Coast Supported Independent Living (SIL) Participant Bec decided to make a delicious, and healthy dinner, on Sunday night. Together with her support worker Rana, the pair used fresh vegetables from her own garden to bring the meal together.

Brighter Access has been proud to be part of the Meals on Wheels community in Inverell for 15 years!

Corey and Bodie, alongside Disability Support Worker David (pictured), are regulars on the Meals on Wheels run, joined by many other Brighter Access participants and staff who give their time to this rewarding and important program.

Volunteering is about more than lending a hand. It’s about having the opportunity to contribute, connect with others and feel part of something bigger.

This is what supporting choice, opportunity, inclusion and acceptance in our community looks like to us. Here’s to 15 years of showing up, lending a hand and making a difference. 👏💜
