π°β¨ Swedish Cinnamon Buns (Kanelbullar) β¨π°
Soft, fluffy, buttery and filled with warm cinnamon goodness, these iconic Swedish treats are best enjoyed with a hot cuppa and good company. In Sweden, they even have a special tradition called Fika, where people take time out of their day to enjoy coffee, cake, and conversation.
Now that's a tradition we can definitely get behind! βπ
π₯ Swedish Kanelbullar (Cinnamon Buns)
π Ingredients
Dough
β’ 3Β½ cups plain flour
β’ 2ΒΌ tsp instant yeast
β’ 1 cup warm milk
β’ ΒΌ cup sugar
β’ 75g melted butter
β’ 1 egg
β’ Pinch of salt
Filling
β’ 75g softened butter
β’ Β½ cup brown sugar
β’ 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
Topping
β’ 1 beaten egg
β’ Pearl sugar or raw sugar if unavailable

1οΈβ£ Combine warm milk, yeast and sugar. Leave for 5 minutes.
2οΈβ£ Add butter, egg, flour and salt. Knead until smooth and elastic.
3οΈβ£ Cover and let rise for 1 hour.
4οΈβ£ Roll into a rectangle and spread with softened butter.
5οΈβ£ Sprinkle generously with brown sugar and cinnamon.
6οΈβ£ Roll tightly, slice into buns and place on a lined baking tray.
7οΈβ£ Let rise for another 30 minutes.
8οΈβ£ Brush with beaten egg, sprinkle with pearl sugar and bake at 190Β°C for 18-20 minutes, until golden.
9οΈβ£ Serve warm with your favourite coffee, tea or hot chocolate. βπ€
