It was so much fun trialling sit to stand chairs with the wonderful Kevin from Aidacare the other week.

A sit-to-stand wheelchair is a powered wheelchair that allows a child to safely move from a sitting position into a supported standing position at the touch of a button.

Standing can provide a range of benefits, including improved bone and joint health, active lengthening and strengthening of muscles, better circulation, and opportunities for children to interact with their environment and peers at eye level.

It’s not just about mobility, it’s about participation, independence and being a part of everyday moments. Just look at these gorgeous smiling faces! 😍

Bellamy has not had the easiest journey in his little life so far. Despite recent hospitalisations and surgeries, he still continues to bring such brightness and joy to everyone around him with his sweet little personality and infectious smile. We’re so proud of how far you’ve come little man!

Today was of those beautiful heart-melting moments that had us in tears (and I managed to capture a pic of!). 😭

After her session, this gorgeous girl, who lives with Autism level 3, spontaneously reached out and wrapped her arms around her physio, Maya.

Progress isn’t always measured in reps or milestones. Sometimes it’s measured in trust, safety, a hug that you didn’t see coming. ❤️❤️

Volunteer Demo Kids Wanted – NISE SpinalStim | NAPA Brisbane
10–11 January 2026
We’re inviting a small number of volunteer demo children to work with Gerti Motavalli and the NAPA team during the NISE Spinal Stimulation course at NAPA Brisbane.
Sessions are led by Gerti Motavalli — creator of SpinalStim, internationally recognised researcher in electrical stimulation, with over 35 years’ experience in paediatric physical therapy. Children will be supported in a calm, respectful environment, with treatment delivered by course participants under expert supervision. We are seeking children with a diagnosis of Spina Bifida, Cerebral Palsy, and children with global delays and low muscle tone, particularly low trunk muscle tone.

Saturday 10 January | approx. 1:30–2:30pm
• Child with Spina Bifida

Sunday 11 January | 11:15–12:15pm
• Child with low muscle tone or low trunk tone (including significantly low tone), scoliosis, or working on sit-to-stand goals

Sunday 11 January | 12:45–1:45pm
• A small group of children with varied diagnoses (e.g. Cerebral Palsy, global developmental delay with low tone, Spina Bifida)

Sessions are FREE of charge. Timing may be flexible to support naps and your child’s comfort, please discuss with us.
