We’re so thrilled to welcome our newest team member - Lei - to our team. Originally from New Zealand, Lei is a compassionate Occupational Therapist who recently moved to Brisbane and joined the paediatric team at Trees Physiotherapy after completing her Bachelor of Health Science (Occupational Therapy) at Auckland University of Technology (AUT).
Lei has an incredibly warm and gentle personality, which puts children and families at ease in her soothing presence. Her passion for paediatric occupational therapy comes from her love of working with children and having younger family members who have always been an important part of her life. This interest grew through her placements, particularly at Akoranga
Childcare Centre, where she supported children through play, music, and structured activities.
Throughout her training, she gained experience across paediatrics, community health, maternal mental health, intellectual disability, and orthopaedics. These experiences strengthened her communication, clinical reasoning, and ability to work collaboratively with
families and other professionals.
Lei values ongoing professional development and has completed the Art of Paediatric Therapy course, a certificate in Risk Assessment and Safety Planning (Child and Youth-Focused) and additional training in providing Functional Capacity Assessments.
She is passionate about making therapy meaningful and enjoyable for children and helping them build skills that support their participation in everyday life. She believes every child is unique and enjoys working alongside families to develop practical and meaningful therapy goals.
Outside of work, Lei enjoys exploring new food places, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
Lei has immediate availability on her caseload so please reach out to [email protected] to secure your child’s spot.
