In recognition of World Su***de Prevention Day, Kambu Health invites the community to come together for our Out of the Shadows Walk.
This free community event provides an opportunity to honour loved ones lost to su***de, support those who may be struggling, and raise awareness of mental health and su***de prevention.
Each year, more than 3,000 Australians lose their lives to su***de. Behind every number is a family member, friend, colleague, or loved one. By walking together, we remember those we have lost, stand alongside those who are hurting, and show that hope, connection, and compassion can make a difference.
The Kambu Social Health team invites community members to join us for a meaningful walk through the park. Along the way, participants will be invited to write the names of loved ones on paper leaves and place them on trees, creating a heartfelt memorial of remembrance, connection, and hope.
Following the walk, everyone is welcome to stay for a community yarn, a free BBQ, and tea and coffee as we come together in healing, support, and solidarity. Together, we can help reduce stigma, encourage conversations about mental health, and remind one another that no one has to face life's darkest moments alone.
