🧠 HEALTHY AGEING IS ABOUT MORE THAN JUST LIVING LONGER.
A fascinating 2026 study published in Nature examined the brains of “SuperAgers” — adults aged 80+ with memory performance comparable to people decades younger.
Researchers found these individuals had a distinct pattern of hippocampal neurogenesis and cognitive resilience, including more newly generated neurons than typical older adults. (Nature)
While research is continuing to understand why some people age so well, it reinforces something we strongly believe at Walloon Health Hub:
Healthy ageing needs to start long before old age.
Having access within our community to exercise, allied health, strength training and opportunities to stay active and socially connected isn’t just about treating illness.
It’s about helping people maintain their physical capacity, independence and quality of life for as long as possible.
That is exactly why having a Health Hub in our community matters. 💙
Don’t just aim to live longer. Aim to live well for longer.
