Capital Chemist Isabella Plains Capital Chemist is wholly-owned by a Canberra partnership of like-minded pharmacists dedicated to providing quality pharmaceutical and ancillary services.

Capital Chemist Isabella Plains was established in September 2007 and is the sister store to Capital Chemist Calwell. The pharmacy is managed and owned by Kathleen Tran who has been with the team since starting as a young pharmacy assistant. In partnership with Elise Thornton and the Calwell store, the dedicated staff pride themselves on being able to spend time with their customers, providing per

sonalised service including leave of absence certificates, one-on-one medication reviews and local deliveries. Kathleen and the team enjoy solving their customers concerns, both big and small and love being part of the Tuggeranong community having a close relationship with the Isabella Plains Medical Practice and the members at Isabella Gardens retirement village. What an incredible opportunity to spend time with the team at and gain a deeper understanding of the impact they are making across our community.

Capital Chemist Community Program Manager, Melita Flynn, recently joined Vinnies CEO Lucy Hohnen for a behind-the-scenes visit across a range of Vinnies programs and services throughout the ACT. The day highlighted the breadth of support Vinnies provides beyond their retail stores, including Street to Home services, family support programs, mentoring initiatives for children from migrant and refugee backgrounds, respite services, call centre support, and Samaritan House.

One of the most powerful experiences was seeing the Vinnies Night Patrol service in action and learning more about the support provided to people experiencing homelessness and hardship across Canberra.

The visit offered an important reminder of the challenges many people face, but also the compassion, dignity, and care shown every day by Vinnies staff and volunteers.

Capital Chemist is proud to support this important work, contributing $70,000 to date towards Vinnies initiatives in our community.

As Vinnies shared:

“Behind every Vinnies Night Patrol run is a caring community making it possible. Capital Chemist’s long-standing support helps our Vinnies Night Patrol volunteers reach people experiencing hardship with compassion, respect, and understanding.”
