Why am I posting a picture of a chair?

Good question; I'm glad you asked..

When I first tried this chair, I had the sensation that my nervous system was relaxing. I closed my eyes and felt the need for rest. I instantly felt tired. I was obviously very tired, but the thing is, I didn't realise it until I took the time to rest for just a minute.

you see, our autonomic nervous systems aren't designed to be on the go 24/7. They are designed to have a balance between this state of 'doing' and the 'rest and digest' state. Without this balance, our body may be forced to send us a wake up call that something needs to change - this could manifest as a headache, sudden fatigue, or depression.

We all have our own unique ways that can help us move to the 'rest and digest' state. For me, I'm also a big fan of afternoon naps - 15 minutes is enough for me! What could you do to provide balance to your daily routine?
