EVERYONE should be able to feel a hip flexor stretch after watching this video!

Stretching your hip flexors can give you immediate relief if you have lower back pain.

Being a physio for 10 years I still hear “I can’t feel anything when I stretch my hip flexors”

If you struggle to feel your glutes during a bridge try these 3 cues👇🏻

1. Feet closer to your hips
2. Drive through your heels

Do you get knee pain when you squat?

Try this simple test.

If you feel your single leg bridge mostly in the front of your quad instead of your glute that’s a big sign your squat mechanics are too quad dominant.

What usually happens next?

Your knees take too much load.
Your glutes and hips stop contributing properly.
And eventually the front of the knee starts getting irritated every time you squat.

Your glutes are supposed to help absorb force and control movement through the squat.

If they’re not doing their job your knees often pay the price.

Once you improve glute activation and hip involvement you’ll usually notice:

✅ Better squat control
✅ More power through the hips
✅ Less pressure on the front of the knee
✅ Squats finally feeling in the right muscles

At Evolve Physiotherapy Centre we see this all the time in gym related knee pain.

The key isn’t always stopping squats.
It’s learning how to load properly 👌🏼

Most people don’t realise the pelvis changes everything when they squat.

If you’re stuck in too much of an anterior pelvic tilt, you stop loading the hips and glutes properly and start dumping force straight into the lower back instead.

That’s why so many people “feel squats in their back” instead of their glutes and hamstrings.

In this video, we break down the difference between anterior and posterior pelvic tilt and how your pelvic positioning can completely change the way you squat.

Sometimes it’s not that squats are bad for your back. It’s that your body position is setting your back up to do all the work.
