Every child deserves to play, explore, and thrive. Play therapy supports development at every stage.
Meet Lily. Lily was born with Down syndrome and was developing at her own pace. Her parents wanted to support her development and help her reach her milestones, but they weren't sure how to engage her in ways that felt natural and joyful. They knew she needed support, but they also wanted her to simply be a kid – playing, exploring, and having fun.
Through play-based therapy at My Advanced Allied Health, Lily worked with our play therapist using sensory activities, movement play, and exploration tailored to her developmental stage. Our play therapist created opportunities for Lily to engage with toys, experience different textures and movements, and build gross and fine motor skills through play. Lily's parents learned how to support her development at home through everyday play. Today, Lily is reaching her milestones, developing confidence, and most importantly, she's having fun exploring her world.
"Our play therapist helped us see that therapy doesn't have to look clinical – it can be joyful and natural. Lily is thriving, and we're enjoying watching her grow and play." – Lily's parents
Children with developmental differences deserve support that celebrates their unique pace and abilities. Play-based therapy creates space for children to develop, learn, and simply be kids – exploring, playing, and building confidence at their own pace.
Our play therapists specialise in supporting children with developmental differences. We use play, sensory activities, and movement to help children develop skills, build confidence, and experience the joy of exploration and play.
If your child has developmental differences and you want to support their growth through play, we're here to help.
