If you've been feeling overwhelmed lately. you're not alone.

So many people in our community are quietly carrying more than they should have to. And most of them haven't told a soul.

That exhaustion, that heaviness. it makes complete sense given what you're holding.

You don't need a referral. You don't need to be at rock bottom. You just need a safe place to start. πŸ’™

We're here, in Jimboomba and via telehealth, and we have availability now.

Reach out today. We'd love to help.

Sometimes life changes in ways you chose β€” and it's still hard.

A new job. A move. A relationship ending or beginning. Kids growing up and leaving. Retirement.

We talk a lot about supporting people through crisis, but not enough about how disorientating it can be when life shifts, even in ways that look good from the outside.

If you're in a season of change and you're not quite sure who you are in it yet β€” that's a completely valid reason to talk to someone.

You don't have to be in crisis to deserve support. πŸ’™

Counsellor or psychologist β€” what's the difference, and does it matter?

It's one of the questions we get most often, so here's a plain-English answer.

Counsellors are trained to support people through a wide range of emotional and psychological challenges β€” grief, life transitions, relationship difficulties, stress, anxiety, and more. They use evidence-based talking therapies in a warm, collaborative way.

Psychologists hold a higher level of clinical training and can diagnose mental health conditions. They're AHPRA-registered and eligible to provide Medicare-rebatable sessions under a Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP.

Both can provide meaningful support β€” the right fit often depends on your goals, your funding pathway, and what you feel comfortable with.

At My Advanced, we have both. We'll help match you with the right person for your needs.

Not sure where to start? Send us a message β€” we'll help you figure it out. πŸ’™

A little reminder for Thursday πŸ’™

Progress doesn't always look like progress in the moment.

Sometimes it looks like getting through a hard week. Sometimes it's asking for help for the first time. Sometimes it's just noticing that you need a break and actually taking it.

You're doing better than you think. 🌿

Mid-week check-in 🌿

What does 'taking care of yourself' actually look like for you this week?

A walk, a nap, a tough conversation you've been putting off, finally booking that appointment you've been avoiding? Sometimes it's just making a cup of tea and sitting in silence for five minutes.

Drop yours in the comments. We love hearing how people show up for themselves. πŸ’™

Feeling overwhelmed? Try this.

Box breathing is one of the simplest ways to settle your nervous system β€” and you can do it anywhere, in under two minutes.

Here's how:
1️⃣ Breathe IN for 4 counts
2️⃣ HOLD for 4 counts
3️⃣ Breathe OUT for 4 counts
4️⃣ HOLD for 4 counts

Repeat 3–4 times.

It works by activating your body's natural calming response β€” letting your nervous system know it's safe to slow down.

Save this for when you need it. πŸ’™

Living with a chronic condition means adapting β€” constantly.

Your body changes. Your plans change. The life you imagined might look different now. And people around you, however well-meaning, don't always get it.

That kind of ongoing adjustment is exhausting in ways that are hard to put into words. And the emotional weight of it deserves just as much attention as the physical.

We work with individuals living with chronic illness, disability, and long-term health challenges β€” because your mental health matters, too.

NDIS funding welcome.

You shouldn't have to drive an hour each way to get support.

We offer telehealth sessions Queensland-wide β€” which means wherever you are, you can see one of our counsellors or psychologists from your lounge room, your car, or anywhere that feels comfortable.

Same quality of care. Same genuine conversations. No commute.

If distance has been the thing getting in the way, it doesn't have to be anymore.

You've been telling yourself it's not bad enough.

But there's no threshold you have to reach before it's okay to ask for help.
Whether you're living with something long-term β€” a chronic illness, a disability, a condition that never fully goes away β€” or navigating something that hit you recently, what you're carrying is real.

Counselling and psychology services are available at My Advanced Allied Health Services. No referral needed. Telehealth or in-clinic. We're here whenever you're ready.

None of it has to be carried alone. πŸ’™

Anxiety doesn't always look like panic attacks.

For a lot of people, it shows up as:
↳ A tight chest that won't go away
↳ Racing thoughts at 2am
↳ Avoiding calls, messages, or plans β€” not because you're lazy, but because it feels too heavy
↳ Snapping at people you love, then feeling terrible about it

If that sounds familiar β€” you're not alone, and you're not broken. That's anxiety doing what anxiety does.

Understanding what's happening in your body and mind is often the first step toward figuring out what to do about it. πŸ’™

No referral needed. We're here when you're ready.
