SNG Healthcare Myth Monday 💭
Myth: People with disabilities are more comfortable with “their own kind.”
Fact: This misconception grew from a time when people with disabilities were often separated in schools, workplaces, and communities. Today, many people with disabilities actively participate in mainstream society, building friendships, careers, and connections just like everyone else.
Inclusion creates stronger communities where everyone belongs. 💙
At SNG Healthcare, we’re proud to support inclusion, independence, and opportunities for everyone to thrive.

💬Our SNG Healthcare Inclusion Insight; Breaking the Stigma Around Disability
Many people living with disability have shared that they don’t want to be placed on a pedestal or called “inspirational” simply for living their everyday lives. They’ve shared that their everyday life doesn’t need to be turned into something “exceptional” and that labels like this can sometimes feel uncomfortable or reduce them to a single story. At the heart of what many people say is simple:
"See us as people first.”
Not heroes.
Not objects of pity.
Not inspiration for just existing.
We are all individuals “trying to live our lives as ordinarily as we can, with many of us working, contributing, struggling, and thriving like everyone else.”
✨ True inclusion is being seen as equals.
✨ Equality is dignity, respect, and humanity.
✨ Change starts with how we see and speak about disability.
At SNG Healthcare Solutions, we believe in listening, learning, and moving beyond stereotypes toward real inclusion.

Today, on International Nurses Day, we celebrate and recognise the incredible nurses who make a difference every single day through their compassion, dedication, strength, and care. 💙
Nursing is more than a profession, it is a commitment to supporting people through some of life’s most challenging and vulnerable moments. From hospitals and communities to disability and mental health support, nurses continue to play a vital role in improving lives and empowering others.
At SNG Healthcare Solutions, we are proud to work alongside nurses who go above and beyond to provide quality care, advocacy, and support to those who need it most.
Thank you to all nurses for the work you do, the comfort you provide, and the difference you make in the lives of individuals, families, and communities every day.
Happy International Nurses Day! 🌸

Prayer of Rememberance

In the rising of the sun
and in its going down,
We remember them.
In the blueness of the sky
and in the warmth of summer,
We remember them.
In the blowing of the wind
and in the chill of winter,
We remember them.
In the rustling of leaves
and in the beauty of autumn,
We remember them.
In the begining of the year
and when it ends,
We remember them.
So long as we live, they too shall live,
for they are part of us.

WE WILL REMEMBER THEM

At SNG Healthcare, we believe that learning never stops. Recently, our Service Coordinator, who also serves as the Coordinator for the Perth Northern Suburbs network of the Mental Health Professionals’ Network (MHPN), had the privilege of organising and attending the workshop “Memory is for the Future,” presented by Dr Tony Fitzgerald, exploring the neuroscience behind trauma and sustainable change.
With over 25 years of experience translating emerging science into real-world medical applications, Dr Fitzgerald shared a powerful framework explaining how the brain uses past experiences to predict and shape future responses. Understanding this gives healthcare providers deeper insight into trauma and equips us with practical tools to deliver safer, more effective, and truly trauma-informed care.
At SNG Healthcare, professional development isn’t about ticking boxes. It’s about staying current, embracing evidence-based practice, and continuously improving how we support the individuals and families who trust us with their care, because when we grow, the quality of care we provide grows too. Thank you, Dr Fitzgerald, for your generosity in sharing your knowledge with us.

💛Challenging stereotypes. Changing the conversation.
Ben Felten is an Australian born motorcyclist, speaker and inclusion advocate and the first blind rider in the world to set a land speed record, reaching 266 km/h at Lake Gairdner in South Australia.
Ben was diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa at 15. By 37, he was totally blind. But blindness didn’t define the limits of his life, low expectations did.
Today, Ben is a motivational speaker, inclusivity thought leader, and founder of the charity In Sight of Dreams, supporting people with disability to reconnect with confidence, purpose and possibility.
At SNG Healthcare, we share stories like Ben’s not to “celebrate difference,” but to challenge stereotypes and remind our community that everyone deserves to be seen for who they are, not what others assume. Ben Felten’s story reminds us that ability isn’t defined by labels. Let’s keep sharing great achievements and changing the narrative. Our 2026 Inclusion Insights are back! Ever seen a service dog in action and wondered what’s “okay” and what’s not? Here’s a few tips that SNG Healthcare has collected from Participants who have Service animals
✨ Hands off while they’re working, a service dog is on duty please do not pet them or distract them while they are working, it can put their handler at risk
✨ Give space, they’re helping their handler with important tasks.
✨ Ask before helping if you think help is required, sometimes the handler’s got it covered and any interruptions can put their handler at risk.
✨ No treats or toys unless invited.
Let us all do our part, by following these simple tips, we can all help create safer, more inclusive environments for people who rely on service dogs.
