RDA Central Coast had a very enjoyable and successful Open Day last Sunday and raised some much needed funds for our operations. We had 60 visitors who toured the centre, grabbed some bargains and enjoyed some delicious food whilst they were there. Although we didnāt sell all of our excess quality horse gear, Coach Pru is now advertising some of these for sale through social media.
We couldnāt have had this day without our own wonderful volunteers who organised, cooked, potted plants and gave other beautiful gifts to donate as well as assisting on the day ā about 30 of our volunteers helped and it was a very enjoyable day for us, as well as for our visitors.
In organising this event we had received some great horse gear donations, in addition to other centre friends who generously gave us so many lovely (as well as delicious) items to sell. These include our good friends at Saddles (Mount White), Bakers Delight (Erina) and Woolworths (Erina), plus our very own volunteer Joanne who made and donated a beautiful horse quilt that was very successfully raffled. Huge thanks also to local news and radio stations who spread the news of our Open Day so comprehensively, such as: Mangrove Mountain Community News, Your Guide Central Coast, Scott Levi at ABC Central Coast and Radio presenter Mark Phillips (Easy Listening 93.3 fm). Events like this often inspire further donations and we would like to also thank the Harris Narvo Hotels who have since generously donated further funds for our Centre. We are so lucky to have such an amazing community to help us to thrive!!
On the strength of the sales you can see, we have already bought our āboysā some lovely new rugs to keep them warm in this cold weather.
