One of the most overlooked parts of healing? Downsizing 🤍

Your starter jewellery is intentionally fitted a little longer to allow room for swelling in those first stages 🐣

Once that swelling settles, keeping extra length in can actually create more movement, more irritation, and make healing harder than it needs to be ❤️‍🩹

Downsizing helps:
✨ reduce unnecessary movement
✨ minimise snagging & knocking
✨ support a better angle while healing
✨ create a more secure, comfortable fit

It might feel like a small change… but it can make a big difference to how your piercing heals.

We first pierced this clients lobes around 12 months ago, which became the start of his own stretching journey.

Today’s addition: a fresh septum 👃🏼

Before piercing, anatomy was carefully checked to make sure a septum was suitable and placement could sit comfortably where it needed to.

At her downsize appointment, this side was healing beautifully, which meant we could pop her existing lobe jewellery back in and display both piercings together 🤍

What started as “I’m not loving this old placement” turned into a custom little stack that feels way more intentional and suits her so beautifully.

A fresh stacked lobe and a little creative problem-solving.

This lovely client originally came in unsure what to do with her existing 2nd lobe, as the placement sat higher than she’d hoped and never quite felt right.

Instead of retiring it, we mapped out a new placement to compliment what was already there… and turned it into a stacked lobe moment 🤍

Such a simple change, but now it feels intentional, balanced, and beautifully styled 😍
