To round out a big week of North Lakes renovations, shout out to Senior OT Reilly who leads our North Lakes team. Reilly has gone from strength to strength this year. In February she was recognised as one of three (in Qld!) OT Futures Practice Education Commendations for her contribution to practice education during 2025. Not only has she been navigating renovations (and all the fun that ensues!) but simultaneously hosting students, coaching graduates, onboarding new team members AND supporting her caseload so beautifully.

Super fun morning with Team Burleigh this week. We were celebrating Beth’s birthday 🎉 and Taylah’s departure 😢

Gloria had made an incredible all-fruit cake for the birthday and given the brief “bring a game you have never played from the resource room”.

What was brought?
Cobra Paw - great for visual discrimination
Block Party - great for planning out concepts in a more abstract way
Clack - fast and fun, and gets you thinking!
It’s Bananas - let’s just say we can’t share these videos on socials because it was WAY too silly and we laughed too too hard 🙊

We played each game, giving us the chance to get a sense of the game and brainstormed other ways we could use each game, and the types of clients who would benefit.

It was a beautiful morning running along the Brisbane River.

Youngcare is advocating for a more inclusive Australia by creating choice, independence and dignity for young people with complex and permanent physical disabilities. Across Australia, too many young people with disabilities are being left behind — stuck in aged care, hospital wards, and rehab centres. Not because they need to be there, but because there’s nowhere else for them to go. Youngcare designs and develops age-appropriate homes where residents can live with choice, independence and dignity.
