Bit sideways this weekend? Me too! I officially listened to zero of the long weekend planning tips I gave you guys on friday! It was a weekend of frozen yoghurt, fried chicken, pastries, violet crumbles and zero exercise! Clearly I did not take the time to plan at all. But I am not going to spend a second feeling guilty about it. We are all human. Back to normal programming tomorrow!!

Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) gives real-time insights into how food, exercise, sleep, stress, and medications affect blood glucose levels.

These are results from my recent CGM experiment:

🥂 Image 1: Champagne caused a noticeable drop in my blood glucose levels—partly why drinking alcohol can trigger hunger.

🍚 Image 2: A small serving of rice with curry led to a sharp spike in my blood glucose.

The power of CGM is seeing your body's unique response to different foods and habits. For people living with diabetes, these insights can help identify foods that support stable glucose levels and those that may cause significant spikes.

Chia seeds are great for the bowels. 1 to 2 tablespoons a day mixed into yoghurt or milk or in a smoothie can really help. BUT they only work well if you have enough hydration on board (think 2-3L of fluid daily)

If you are using a GLP1 medication this matters even more. Because digestion is slower, chia seeds should be well soaked before eating eg overnight pudding, pre soaked in yoghurt or pre soak them in water and add them into your smoothie the next day.
