I took this photo the other night while we stopped to watch the sunset.

It made me realise how rarely I actually stop.

Like so many of us, I’m always thinking about what’s next. The washing needs doing. Work needs doing. The kids need something. There’s always another email, another job, another commitment.

And saying no? That can be really hard.

There’s always something.

As a mum, I know how easy it is to put yourself at the bottom of the list. Looking after ourselves is usually the first thing we sacrifice because it feels easier to “just keep going.”

But over time, our bodies keep score.

We hold stress in our shoulders. We clench our jaws. We stop taking deep breaths. We accept the tightness, the headaches and the aching back as “just part of life.”

The thing is…

Just because it’s common, doesn’t mean it’s normal.

One of my favourite parts of my job is seeing someone realise they don’t have to keep living like that.

To hear them say they slept through the night.

To watch them move more freely.

To know they’re back gardening, riding horses, playing with their grandkids or simply enjoying everyday life again.

Our bodies are incredibly resilient. They want to move well. They want to heal. Sometimes they just need a little support and a reminder that looking after ourselves isn’t selfish—it’s necessary.

Maybe this is your reminder to take an hour for yourself.

Because you deserve to feel good too.

Running a small business comes with its challenges, but one thing I’ll never take for granted is the incredible people I get to meet along the way.

I don’t think I say it enough, but I genuinely have the most amazing clients.

Every day I get to meet people from all walks of life. I hear your stories, celebrate your wins, support you through the tougher seasons and watch you get back to doing the things you love.

People often thank me after a treatment, but the truth is… I feel like I’m the lucky one.

It’s never just about treating sore muscles. It’s about helping people get back to living their lives.

Watching someone move more freely, hearing they’ve finally slept through the night, or seeing them get back to gardening, riding horses, playing with their kids or grandkids, or simply enjoying everyday life again… those moments never get old.

Every client teaches me something different, and every client reminds me why I chose this profession.

🤔 Why does remedial massage cost more?

It’s a question I’m occasionally asked, and it’s a fair one.

When you book a remedial massage, you’re not just paying for the time spent on the massage table.

You’re also paying for the training, knowledge and ongoing professional requirements that sit behind the treatment.

As an accredited remedial massage therapist, I have completed extensive training in anatomy, physiology, assessment and treatment techniques. I also complete ongoing professional development each year to maintain my accreditation and stay up to date with current knowledge and practices.

A remedial massage appointment often involves more than simply working on sore muscles. It may include discussing your symptoms, assessing movement, identifying contributing factors and tailoring treatment to your individual needs and goals.

That doesn’t mean one type of massage is better than another. Different therapies serve different purposes.

If your goal is relaxation and some time out, a relaxation massage may be exactly what you need.

If you’re dealing with ongoing pain, restricted movement, recurring tension or recovering from injury, remedial massage may be a more appropriate option.

At the end of the day, the most important thing is finding the treatment that best suits you.

Living in the country often means physical work is just part of everyday life.
