Drug overdoses can happen to anyone, and knowing what to do could save a life.
Naloxone is a medication that can temporarily reverse the effects of an opioid overdose, giving emergency services valuable time to arrive.
The good news is that naloxone is available FREE from participating pharmacies across Australia, including our pharmacy.
If you, a family member, or someone you know may be at risk of opioid overdose, talk to one of our pharmacists. We can provide advice on naloxone, explain how it works, and help you access it at no cost.
You never know when this simple conversation could help save a life.
Next time you're in store, speak with one of our pharmacists to learn more.
Australia recorded it deadliest overdose year on record, according to the Penington Institute's new analysis of 2024 data.
The non-profit drug policy research group says an early preview of its annual overdose report, due later this year, reveals 2,596 people died in 2024.
Drug researchers say the deaths are preventable and governments must invest more in harm reduction and treatment services.
