Have you heard about Victoria's new Midday Power Saver?

From 1 October, eligible Victorian households can opt in to receive 3 hours of no-cost electricity every day between 11 am and 2 pm – including weekends.

If you're able to move some of your electricity use into this period, such as running your washing machine, dishwasher, clothes dryer, electric hot water, heating or cooling, you may be able to reduce your electricity bills.

But it's important to check before you switch.

The Midday Power Saver is a different electricity tariff and rates outside the 11 am–2 pm period may be higher. This means it may not be the best option for every household.

To find out if you're eligible and whether it could work for you:
• Check that you have a smart meter
• Contact your electricity retailer and ask about the Victorian Midday Power Saver
• Compare your options using the Victorian Government's free Victorian Energy Compare service

The Victorian Government estimates households could save around $149–$428 per year, depending on their circumstances and how much electricity use they can move into the free period.

We're sharing this information with our Carodin Kare community because every little saving can help.

Please speak with your electricity retailer and compare your options before changing plans.

From our support workers out and about each day, to the team behind the scenes keeping everything running, we all share the same goal — helping people feel supported, connected and valued.

💙 How has it been 1 week since our Open Day already?!

We’re still smiling about what a wonderful day it was celebrating the opening of our new Carodin Kare Services home at 3 Albert Street, Kerang.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped make the day possible — from all those who worked behind the scenes in the lead-up, to our wonderful local businesses Grays Bakery Kerang, Choice Cut Butcher and Chino's on Victoria for helping us feed everyone, the Kerang Men’s Shed (Kerang District Health) for firing up the BBQ, Five Hearts Cafe for keeping the coffees flowing, KerryM Photography for our stunning pics and Mixx1077 for joining us and broadcasting live on the day.

And of course, the biggest thank you goes to our clients, families, friends and community who came along, had a look through our new space, shared a cuppa and a chat, and showed us so much support. 💙

But it certainly doesn’t stop with our Open Day! Carodin Kare Services is here for our community.
