Dry needling is often misunderstood. Here are four common myths we hear in the clinic:

โŒ Myth 1: Dry needling is the same as acupuncture
While both use thin needles, they are based on different clinical frameworks and treatment approaches.

โŒ Myth 2: It has to be painful to work
Some people may feel a brief twitch response or temporary discomfort, but treatment should be tailored to your comfort level.

โŒ Myth 3: One session will fix everything
Dry needling may be one component of a broader management plan that can include exercise, manual therapy, and movement advice.

โŒ Myth 4: It works for everyone
Like any healthcare intervention, responses vary between individuals. What helps one person may not have the same effect for another.

โœ… Dry needling may help some people manage muscle tension, movement restrictions, or discomfort as part of an individualised treatment approach.

If you're curious about whether dry needling may be suitable for you, speak with a qualified healthcare professional, such as our team at The Rehab Plus.

Walking lunges are a great exercise to build quad, hamstring and glute strength ๐Ÿ”ฅ

BONUS: they can be done with and without weights.

The key is to engage your core, keep your shoulder back and chest up, whilst keeping your knee straight.

Try it for yourself!

Over the years, Iโ€™ve dealt with jaw discomfort myself, and I know how frustrating it can be trying to figure out whatโ€™s going on and where to go for the right support.

At times, I didnโ€™t always feel listened to or fully understood, which made the process even more challenging.

That experience shaped how I practice today.

I place a big focus on listening, understanding your concerns, and working with you to find an approach that feels appropriate for your situation.

Everyoneโ€™s experience is different, and there isnโ€™t a one-size-fits-all answer, which is why individualised care is so important.

Have you got stiff hips?

Here are a few movements you can try ๐Ÿ‘‡

Butterflies, modified 90/90s, the classic hip flexor stretch, and yoga squat with hip shifts are commonly used to explore hip mobility.

These movements may help some people feel more comfortable and move more freely through the hips over time.

The key is to work within a range that feels manageable for your body and build gradually.

Not every exercise suits everyone, so itโ€™s worth adjusting based on your own comfort and experience.
