There is nothing more important as an athlete than competing.

Training is important, but there is one thing it can’t replicate and that is the feeling of competition.

It’s why it is so important to get out there and compete as often as safely possible.

I've had the pleasure and privilege to treat sprinting legend, Dwain Chambers.

The biggest thing I've learnt?

There's always something you can improve, no matter how elite you are.

Athletes don't always know what they need to do to look after themselves, and they still rely a lot on specialists, like myself, to keep in top condition.

I've learnt lots treating Dwain, which has enabled me to improve treatment for not just athletes, but also my general population patients.

In sprinting, it's all about efficiency.

The goal is to move as efficiently as possible so no energy is wasted through unnecessary movement.

Here, Chris is taking Andrew through the fundamental mechanics of sprinting during one of his very first sprint sessions. Building these foundations early is what creates faster, more efficient running form over time.

Coaches eye makes a huge difference!

Recording your training sessions or reps are a massive help to yourself and your coach.. It enables us to analyse and see what's actually going on, to then offer guidance and make adequate changes quickly. This also gives us the ability to also show you what's happening so you understand your own movements and why they may not be working out the way you want.

As coaches, we may analyse things differently but have the same end goal - help you get better!

Unsure about your training or technique? - Get in contact with our coaches and see how we can help you.

Pregnancy can bring a range of physical changes, which is why remedial massage is often adapted to suit the individual and their stage of pregnancy. 🀰

One of the key differences is that treatment is typically a little gentler, with less focus on strong trigger point work and avoidance of certain areas where deeper pressure may not be appropriate.

The aim is to provide a comfortable, tailored approach that supports general wellbeing and helps some people feel more relaxed during pregnancy. Every session is adjusted based on the person's needs, comfort levels, and health considerations.

If you're pregnant and considering remedial massage, speak with your healthcare provider to determine what is appropriate for you, or come and see Deeya at The Rehab Plus.
