Hey, if you’re here on Facebook and you’re not following me over on Instagram yet… come join me there too. 🌿

I share a little more of the day-to-day over there, thoughts, conversations, behind-the-scenes bits of Beautifully Wyld, counselling, ceremonies, midlife, motherhood, menopauses, healing and all the wonderfully messy stuff in between.

So if you fancy seeing more of what I’m up to, you can find me on Instagram too.

Come say hi. 🤎

**Midlife isn’t the beginning of your decline.
It’s the beginning of your return.**

Not to the woman you were before.

To the woman underneath all the roles, expectations, responsibilities and versions of yourself you learned to become.

Midlife has a way of stripping things back.

You start questioning what you actually want.
What you’re no longer willing to tolerate.
Whose approval you’re still chasing.
What parts of yourself you abandoned somewhere along the way.

And yes, there can be grief here.

For the body that is changing.
For the years that have passed.
For the identities that no longer fit.
For the dreams you thought would look different by now.

But there is something else happening too.

A remembering.

A deeper knowing.
A reclamation of your voice.
A growing intolerance for the life that looks good but feels wrong.

You are not fading.

You are becoming harder to fool.

Midlife isn’t asking you to become younger.

It’s asking you to become more fully yourself.

And perhaps that is the real return....

If you’re standing at this threshold and wondering what comes next, you don’t have to navigate it alone.

I work with women through the messy, meaningful territory of midlife, menopause, identity, grief and becoming, helping you listen to what this chapter is asking of you.

If this is where you are, send me a DM with the word RETURN. 🌿

I have been thinking a lot lately about curiosity.

Not the surface-level curiosity of wanting to know the latest news, the newest trend or the details of someone else’s life. But the deeper kind.

The kind of curiosity that asks us to pause before we decide and that invites us to soften before we judge and that allows us to look at another human being and wonder:

“What shaped you?”

“What have you lived through that I cannot see?”

“What am I missing?”

I think curiosity might be one of the most underrated qualities we have as human beings Because it requires something that has become increasingly rare in our modern world.

Humility.

It requires us to admit that we don’t know everything and that we may not have the full picture.

And perhaps this is where so many of our conflicts begin.

Not because people disagree. But because we have forgotten how to remain connected while disagreeing.

And seem to have forgotten how to hold complexity and nuance. Can we practice how to sit beside someone whose reality looks different from our own and ask:

“Help me understand.”

Instead, of moving so quickly into defending. We gather evidence to prepare arguments, searching for the flaws in another person’s position and looking for the place where we can prove they are wrong.

And perhaps this is because being wrong has become something we fear rather than something we learn from. Somewhere along the way, we began to confuse being challenged with being attacked. We began to confuse discomfort with danger and believed that if someone saw something differently from us, one of us must be wrong and one of us must be right.

But what if there is another way and what if curiosity is the bridge between difference? What if we could approach difficult conversations not with the question:

“How do I convince you?”

but:

“What can I learn here?”

There is a particular kind of exhaustion that comes from being the woman who can always figure it out.

You know the one.

You are intelligent, capable, resourceful and independent. You have spent decades learning how to make things happen. You can organise the birthday party, manage the school situation, navigate the relationship, solve the problem at work, start the business, pay the bill, make the appointment, remember what everyone needs and somehow still turn up looking reasonably composed.

And for a long time, you probably loved this part of yourself.

Being capable can feel incredibly empowering.

There is something deeply satisfying about knowing you can rely on yourself. You learn that you can make decisions, solve problems and navigate whatever life throws at you. In your twenties and thirties, perhaps you even wore your independence like a badge of honour.

And then life quietly adds another thing.

And another.

A relationship. Children. A mortgage. A career. Aging parents. A business. School emails. Health appointments. Friendships. Household logistics. Financial decisions. Emotional negotiations. The invisible work of noticing what needs to happen before anyone else has even realised there is something to notice.

And because you have always managed, you keep managing.

This is where I think so many women get caught.

Not because they are incapable.

Because they are so capable.

We can become so accustomed to carrying the load that we don’t notice the load is becoming too heavy.

For me, it means looking at the whole person, not just what’s happening in your mind, but what’s happening in your body, your nervous system, your relationships, your life transitions, and the deeper story that’s brought you here.

Sometimes we talk. Sometimes we work with the body. Sometimes we use ritual or other gentle therapeutic approaches.

Because healing isn’t one-size-fits-all.

If you’re curious about working together, send me a message or book a discovery call today.
