✨ Meet the Team – Ange ✨

🌿 How long have you been a Psychologist?
I graduated with a Bachelor of Psychology in 2014 and completed my Master of School Counselling at the University of Sydney. From 2016–2023, I worked as a School Counsellor/School Psychologist across primary and high schools from Singleton to Mayfield.

Before psychology, I worked almost every job imaginable — cafés, pubs, banks, call centres, cinemas, retail, Domino’s… all of which taught me more about people, behaviour, communication and resilience than any textbook ever could. I genuinely think customer service is more important than the HSC (TED Talk pending).

🌱 What inspired me to work in this area?
Psychology grabbed me early, and the message was always clear: early intervention matters. School counselling felt like the perfect way to support young people who needed help but couldn’t always access it.

Over time, I realised how important it is to work with carers and whole family systems — which is why I moved into the clinical space, where I can support families more holistically.

🌼 When I’m not at work…
You’ll probably find me at the gym (unless I’ve slept through my 5:30am alarm), having a coffee in comfy clothes, reading, gaming, embroidering, snuggling my pets, or outside with my girls. I prioritise rest, quiet time, movement and hobbies to recharge after a very people‑heavy job.

🌟 My favourite part about working at TWTC
I love that carers and young people feel safe enough to be open, honest and collaborative. Psychoeducation is a huge part of my work — once we understand why something is happening, we can support it from a strengths‑based perspective rather than trying to “fix” it.

I also adore working in a multidisciplinary team. I learn so much from our OTs and Speechies, and our collaborative approach genuinely strengthens the support we offer families. Our team is passionate, skilled, and wonderfully collaborative.

And yes… the snack table is a big bonus.

📚Book Week Spotlight!

This week, knocked on a few doors to ask three of our clinicians how books shape their work with children and families.

From building language and emotional understanding to strengthening connection, books play a powerful role in therapy.

✨We love celebrating the magic of books - in sessions and beyond!

If you can read this… Happy Speech Week!
This week we’re celebrating not only Book Week, but also our incredible speech pathologists and the meaningful, life‑changing work they do every day. Thank you to our wonderful speechies for supporting children, families, and communities with skill, compassion, and dedication.

✨ Meet the Team – Amy ✨

I’ve been practising as a psychologist since 2015, and from the very beginning I knew I wanted a career where I could make a genuine difference in people’s lives. Supporting children and families through challenges - and celebrating their achievements alongside them - is something I feel incredibly grateful to do every day. 💛

Outside of work, you’ll usually find me spending time with my kids and family, enjoying the outdoors, going for a swim, grabbing a coffee, or diving into a good book when I get the chance. 🌿☕📚

The best part of my role is the amazing children, young people, and families we get to support. I also feel very lucky to work alongside such a caring, passionate team who share the same commitment to making meaningful change. ✨

Speech and language work together, but they’re not the same. When we understand the difference between speech and language, we can better recognise challenges, celebrate strengths, and choose the right supports for growing communicators 💚
