We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Medical Officer to join our supportive healthcare team in Kununurra, Western Australia. This role is essential in providing comprehensive primary healthcare at our private GP clinic, with a focus on culturally safe, patient centred care.

Wunan Health has JEV - Japanese Encephalitis Vaccinations available this week.

Japanese encephalitis (JE) is a rare but serious illness caused by infection with the mosquito-borne JE virus. The disease mainly affects the central nervous system.

Eligibility to receive a Japanese encephalitis virus (JEV) vaccine has been expanded until 31 October 2026:
* All residents in the Kimberley and Pilbara regions aged 2 months and over
* Workers for mining companies with sites in the Kimberley and Pilbara regions
* Travellers to the Kimberley and Pilbara regions aged 2 months and older.

Appointments are available for the vaccination this Thursday & Friday. Please call reception on 9168 1001 to arrange an appointment.

Wunan Health is delighted to welcome Dr Andreas Marangou (Dr Andrew) to the team as a GP Locum from today.

Dr Andrew is an experienced rural GP and Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP). Currently semi-retired, he has continued his passion for rural medicine through locum work in Broome over the past two years.

Previously, Dr Andrew worked as a rural GP in Esperance, where he also enjoyed teaching and mentoring medical students, sharing his knowledge and experience with the next generation of Doctors.

Outside of medicine, Dr Andrew enjoys cycling and playing classical guitar.

💙 Farewell, Alex 💙

Today we say a very special farewell to Alex, as she begins the next chapter of her life with Ryley & family in QLD.

Alex has been a valued part of the Wunan Health team since January 2024, bringing kindness, dedication, warmth and a genuine commitment to our patients and community. She has also added so much life to the reception team and beyond. Alex's contribution has made a meaningful difference, and she will certainly be missed by both our team and the many people she has crossed paths with each day.

While we are sad to see Alex leave, we are incredibly grateful for her time, care and energy she has put into Wunan Health.
