Phoebe has been part of the Prelude Australia family since she was just 2 years old and it’s been a privilege to support her through so many important life milestones along the way.

From early childhood through to today, Phoebe’s journey is a beautiful reminder that the right support can grow with a child as their world expands.

Most recently, Phoebe has been navigating some big changes - welcoming a new baby niece and a puppy into the family.

With support from her OT and Speech Pathologist, social stories were created to help Phoebe prepare for these new experiences. By reading and practicing these together with her family, Phoebe has been able to:

✔ Take quiet time when things feel overwhelming
✔ Feel comfortable sharing her space
✔ Build positive connections - even enjoying pats and playtime with the puppy
✔ Grow her confidence with both baby and puppy in the same environment

These are the moments that matter - real life, real progress, and meaningful outcomes.

We’re so proud to be part of Phoebe and her family’s journey and grateful to support them every step of the way.

Are you on every waitlist and still waiting for support?

You’re not alone — and you don’t have to put everything on hold in the meantime.

Prelude Australia currently has availability for Virtual Speech Pathology and Occupational Therapy supports, so you can start getting the help you need now.

Virtual support is flexible and designed to fit into real life. That might look like:
• A Zoom session with you and your child
• Coaching and strategy-building with parents and carers
• A quick phone call while you’re in the school pick-up line or getting things done at home

It’s a great way to:
✨ Set meaningful goals
✨ Learn practical, everyday strategies
✨ Build your confidence while you wait for face-to-face services
✨ Get the ball rolling now, not later

Virtual supports can also help build consistency across your child’s team. Our therapists can work alongside parents, carers, educators, teachers, support workers and other therapists to share strategies and support everyone around your child.

Virtual support can also be a really helpful short-term option while waiting for face-to-face therapy with a member of our team. Because our services are all within Prelude Australia, transitioning from virtual to face-to-face supports is smooth and simple, with notes, resources, strategies and communication all staying in-house.

Small steps now can make a big difference over time.

This year’s theme, “All In,” is a call for all Australians to take action and commit to reconciliation in meaningful ways, recognising that it is not a passive journey, but one we must actively choose together.

At Prelude Australia, being “All In” means walking alongside First Nations families with respect, listening and learning, and creating culturally safe and inclusive environments for children and families. We are committed to building genuine relationships, valuing connection to culture and community, and ensuring our supports are guided by each family’s strengths, voice and identity.
