And when we needed a crack promotional team to help spread the word, our Community Care crew answered the call.

Although judging by this beautifully choreographed presentation, we may have uncovered a few previously hidden talents! 😂👏

The brand-new Warramunda Village Cook Book will officially launch at our Village Open Day on Wednesday, October 28, and we think it’s going to become a bit of a kitchen treasure. 💛

🎉 SAVE THE DATE | WARRAMUNDA VILLAGE OPEN DAY

The countdown is on!

On Wednesday, October 28, we’ll throw open the doors for the Warramunda Village Open Day, and over the next two months we’ll be giving you a sneak peek at some of the people, activities and special features that will make up the day.

And where better to start than with the entertainment? 🎶

We’re delighted to announce Australian country music legend Reg Poole OAM will be our special guest, entertaining residents, families, staff, visitors and invited guests.

For those who don’t know Reg’s remarkable story:

🎸 He grew up on a dairy farm at Tatura and later farmed at Merrigum, giving him deep connections to our part of the Goulburn Valley.
🏆 He won his first Golden Guitar in 1974 as New Talent of the Year for Australian Country Music Hall of Fame.
🏆 His career ultimately delivered three Golden Guitar wins, including recognition for The Warrumbungle Mare and When The Big Mobs Came To Bourke.
🎵 His catalogue includes songs such as Down in the Goulburn Valley, Old Bushie, Golden Guitar and If I Make a Friend Today.
💛 And best of all, Reg is no stranger to Warramunda Village. He was a regular entertainer here before COVID and received a wonderful welcome when he returned for a concert in 2023.

And Reg is only one part of what we have planned.

💛 THE LINDY AWARD | CONGRATULATIONS SEAN DAVIDSON! 🌿

First impressions matter, and at Warramunda Village, one of the people responsible for making ours so special is Sean Davidson, our sixth recipient of The Lindy Award.

Anyone arriving at Warramunda sees Sean’s work before they even walk through the doors.

🌱 The gardens surrounding our Village
🌸 The colourful spaces that welcome residents, families and visitors
🪴 The internal gardens enjoyed every day by residents and staff
🌿 And all those little details that help make Warramunda feel cared for and loved

Working within our Operations and Maintenance teams, Sean takes enormous pride in ensuring Warramunda looks its best inside and out.

But his nomination was about much more than gardening.

Sean is consistently recognised for his willingness to help wherever he can, his positive attitude and his habit of going that extra yard, regardless of the task in front of him.

That commitment beautifully reflects the values behind our WE CARE philosophy: Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Excellence.

Sean becomes the sixth winner of The Lindy Award, joining Louise Connally, Cassie O’Dwyer, Marissa Hooper, Ross Cooper and Maree Van Roy, as we reach the halfway point of our first year of recognising the people who help make Warramunda what it is.

💛 Congratulations Sean. A thoroughly deserved recognition, and thank you for helping make our Village such a beautiful place to call home, work and visit.

Throughout history, walls have done some pretty big things.

The Great Wall of China kept empires secure. The Berlin Wall stood as a symbol of history divided. But right now at Warramunda, our Capital Projects Manager, Stu, has built a wall that does something far better - it brings us all together! 🧱💙

As our exciting main entrance redevelopment continues to move forward at an amazing pace, Stu has officially opened up Stu’s Message Wall!This special wall is a temporary canvas, and Stu is personally inviting everyone.- our wonderful staff, families, residents, community care clients, and visitors - to leave their mark, write a memory, or share a blessing on it before it comes down to make way for our brand-new entrance. ✍️

🚗🌏 YOU CAN’T GO ANYWHERE WITHOUT BUMPING INTO SOMEONE FROM KY!

Even, apparently, 5,000 kilometres from home! 😂

Warramunda Village Board Chair John Moore and wife Francine are a week into an incredible 10-day, 5,247km Variety Bash from Halls Gap to Exmouth.

And somewhere along the way, they discovered two fellow Bashers were also from Kyabram!

👋 John Martin and Janice Johnstone (pictured with John and Francine, are Bash rookies this year - tackling the trip in their LandCruiser ute.

Meanwhile, John and Francine were slightly harder to miss…

Thousands of kilometres, some of the most remote parts of Australia… and you still bump into someone from Ky! 😂

Best of all, it was for a fantastic cause. John and Francine doubled their original $10,000 fundraising goal, helping Variety support children and families through equipment, education, inclusive spaces and special experiences. ❤️

👏 Congratulations John and Francine on an amazing adventure, and a special shout-out to their unexpected Ky travelling companions, John and Janice!

Some of the best recipes aren't found in famous cookbooks.

They're tucked away in handwritten notebooks, passed down through generations, shared over family dinners, or baked for birthdays, celebrations and Sunday afternoons.

At Warramunda, food has always been about much more than what's on the plate. It's about memories, family, friendship and bringing people together. ❤️

That's why we're creating the Warramunda Recipe Book 2026, and we'd love our residents, Community Care clients, staff, volunteers, families and friends of Warramunda to help fill its pages.

We're looking for your favourite recipes in six delicious categories:

But here's the really special part...

Along with your recipe, we'd love you to tell us the story behind it. 💜

🎉💜 A DOUBLE REASON TO CELEBRATE! 💜🏆
What a wonderful way to celebrate Aged Care Employee Day!

This morning, our Community Care team was proudly recognised as a national finalist in the Innovation Team category of the 2026 Ageing Australia You are ACE! Awards.

It was an honour to accept our finalist recognition from Ageing Australia Victoria/Tasmania State Manager Jeremy Irvine, alongside so many outstanding organisations and individuals from across the country. 👏

This recognition reflects an incredible period of innovation and change for our Community Care team, including:
💻 Successfully implementing The Lookout Way digital care platform.
🏡 Preparing for the transition to Support at Home.
📋 Embracing the new Aged Care Act and Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards.
❤️ Continuing to deliver exceptional care and support to our clients throughout a period of significant reform.

While today was a proud moment for Community Care, it became an even bigger celebration for the Warramunda family.

A huge congratulations to our Warramunda Village Project Control Group, which was announced as the national winner of the Project Team category for its outstanding internal redevelopment. 🏆✨

To have two teams from one regional organisation recognised on the national stage, with one named a finalist and the other a national winner, is an extraordinary achievement and a reflection of the commitment, professionalism and passion of everyone across Warramunda.

Today we celebrate not only these awards, but the amazing people who make them possible every single day.
