Does your child SMIRK when they've done something wrong?

A good example would be spending money on roblox when not having the funds to do so!

One of my PDAers does this and infact so do I if I'm put on the spot.

When I asked them about it, it's because they were EMBARRASSED .

And I can agree with that feeling.

Unfortunately, society's perception of this is that they are 'proud of their wrongdoing' and it is seen as defiance.

It's always best to try & ascertain the difference between the two in a quiet moment with your kid.

They may not even realize they do it.

Your kid isn't doing it on purpose to rile you up further.

Let it go, move on.

By all means explain the consequences of their actions but then let it go and carry on with the day.

You can help your child in their environment by not having access to your funds (as an example of above Roblox situation).

A safe is a useful tool to purchase to keep all your financial documents in.

What's been your experience? What has your child smirked about ?

Does your child HISS and GROWL?

This is your child trying to communicate with you that they don't like something.

Write down when they do it and what they were asked to do and you will start to notice a pattern of their dislikes.

They just aren't able to formulate the words needed to tell you 'in that moment'

Try not to force the issue, just accept that as communication and move on.

With our kids we were told to teach them " use your words " but that never worked with our PDAers.

That in itself would be seen by PDA kids as more of a demand and they would either shutdown or meltdown further and for longer.

So, tell me, how do your kids communicate?

Once parents cope, everything calms down.

I figured it out the hard way so you don't have to!
When NOTHING was working, and both myself and my kids were burnt out, I HAD to find a way.

I had to.

And I did.

I found the 'missing link' of emotional regulation.

I stopped the massive swings in emotions when dealing with a child who has hours long meltdowns.
Both for the myself and my child.

And I have been able to repeat my successes with many other parents.

My stress management and self care mini course keeps you SUPER CALM, even through (near constant) massive meltdowns.

How do I know it works?

Because it's based on a research based emotional regulation tool, and has been further adapted to help you decrease the frequency, severity and and length of your kid's meltdowns.

It has worked in real life practice to "calm the farm" and keep you fully in control of role modelling self regulation to your child.

Contrary to popular belief, behaviour doesn't need to get WORSE before it gets better.

In fact, most kids were completely confused that their parent wasn't getting short tempered with them!!

This is THE mini course you need to get you coping ASAP.

It is an excellent adjunct to "The Explosive Child " by Dr Ross Greene and has been applied successfully by parents who have kids with PDA, ODD, IED, severe anxiety and more.

The course is based around learning and implementing a unique approach that quickly helps your child to regulate.

You will see results within about 2 weeks.

The course is bite sized (10 min video once a week) for 6 weeks and uses a coaching approach to move you forward.

It is IDEAL for the burntout parent who feels like they're constantly "being dragged through a hedge backwards at 60 km /hr!"

If you're wondering what to spend your funds on that will REALLY HELP YOU AND YOUR FAMILY, then you can purchase my mini course on my website.

And don't worry, you don't have to complete the course to benefit.
The BENEFIT COMES FROM THE VERY FIRST WEEK. The rest is coaching you to reinforce it.

If you need extra accountability, then you can book in a 1:1 session too on my website.

All I ask, before you jump in, is that you are OPEN to changing what's not working for you, (and that may be your style of parenting).

Comment HELP below and I'll send you the details.
