Most people rely heavily on their vision, while the other two systems are often undertrained.

So how do we improve our body awareness and challenge the inner ear balance system?

March on the spot with your eyes closed β€” but only if you feel safe and are not at risk of falling.

The challenge? Actually staying on the spot! Many people drift forwards or sideways without even realising it. Without vision, the brain has to rely much more on the inner ear and body awareness systems.

The good news? Balance can be trained! πŸ™Œ

πŸ’œ In Loving Memory of Gaye πŸ’œ

It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our lovely Gaye.

Despite many health challenges, Gaye would still make the effort to come to yoga. I know it wasn’t always easy, but she kept showing up. Yoga and bingo were the highlights of her week, not just for the exercise, but for the social connection. A reminder to us all of how important connection is for our health and happiness.

Gaye always managed to have a laugh, even at my lame jokes!

Life wasn’t always easy for Gaye, and she faced many challenges. At just 72 years old, she has left us too soon and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Thank you for being part of our yoga family, Gaye.

Forever in our hearts, lovely Gaye. πŸ€πŸ•ŠοΈ xo
