When we only comment on results, children can start to feel pressure to get things “right”. When we notice effort, persistence, and problem-solving, it supports confidence and willingness to keep trying.

This might sound like:
“You kept going with that.”
“That looked tricky - you stuck with it.”
“You’re figuring it out.”

It’s not about praise or evaluation, it’s about noticing what’s happening. Over time, this helps children feel more confident to try, explore, and engage without pressure.

A big part of our work happens beyond the session, through communication, collaboration, and shared understanding.

Each week, we connect with families through updates that includes teachers and allied health professionals. This helps ensure everyone supporting the child is working from the same understanding, with consistent approaches.

When the people around a child feel informed, connected, and supported, it creates stronger foundations for regulation, participation, and confidence across settings. We’re not just supporting the child in front of us - we're supporting the whole picture.

At AAA, we think about growth over the long term. Not in weeks, but across months and years.

We know that meaningful progress comes from strong foundations:

These things take time, and they don’t always look like obvious “progress” straight away.
