Today is R U OK? Day πŸ’›

For families and carers, asking this question can be incredibly important.

So much of our time can be spent making sure everyone else is OK. We organise, advocate, attend appointments, make phone calls, fill out paperwork, support our loved ones and keep everything moving.

But who checks in on the person doing the caring?

Today I want to remind every parent, carer and family member that you matter too.

Reach out to someone you know and ask, β€˜Are you OK?’ Then take the time to really listen to their answer.

And if you’re the one who isn’t OK today, please reach out to someone you trust. You don’t have to have all the answers or have everything together before you ask for support.

Connection and conversation can make such a difference. πŸ’›

Let’s keep checking in on each other, not just today, but every day.

πŸŽ™οΈ What a great show today on The Unexpected Journey!

Tina Naughton and I had the pleasure of chatting with Toni Stewart from Doable Australia, formerly Focus Individualised Support Services.

It was wonderful hearing more about the journey behind the rebrand to Doable Australia and what this next chapter represents for the organisation and the people they support.

We also spoke about some exciting things happening at Doable, including the development of their new CRM, Lens, and their upcoming move into a new office in Somerville.

I always love hearing about organisations that are continuing to grow, evolve and look at ways they can better support people and their families.

A huge thank you to Toni for joining us today and sharing so openly about Doable Australia and what’s ahead.

And, as always, thank you to my wonderful co-host Tina for another great show on RPPFM - Your Peninsula Radio. πŸ’™πŸ’›
