Another massive night, finishing at 2:30am, as their teams worked tirelessly behind the scenes delivering infrastructure upgrades that will help us dramatically expand healthcare services in Latrobe over the coming months.
If you're visiting us over the next fortnight, you'll notice a few temporary changes around the pharmacy. These are all part of preparing for some major upgrades being installed next week, and we appreciate your patience while the work takes place.
We're investing close to half a million dollars into the future of healthcare in Latrobe. This is about far more than bricks and mortar. It's about building a more sustainable, resilient, and accessible healthcare service for our community.
Our solar and energy resilience projects will reduce our reliance on the electricity grid and help ensure we can continue operating during power outages and severe weather events. When the community needs us most, we want to be here.

Since 1 July, the savings we've generated have been reinvested back into the pharmacy. Rather than taking those gains elsewhere, we've invested in our people and our future. This has allowed us to welcome a fourth pharmacist and a second intern pharmacist, creating what will be the largest pharmacist workforce ever working side by side in Latrobe.
Over the next fortnight, we'll be welcoming these new team members as we prepare to introduce 7-day trading for the first time.
Combined with our infrastructure investment, this means more care, more services, and better access to healthcare closer to home.
🕒 From 19 October, our new opening hours will be:
• Monday to Friday: 8:00am to 6:00pm�• Saturday: 8:30am to 12:00pm�• Sunday: 8:30am to 12:00pm
These extended hours allow us to be there when patients need us, while also creating greater flexibility for our team. We're particularly pleased that some former team members have already approached us about returning, helping us build an even stronger workforce for the future.
But this is just the beginning.
We're also exploring ways to bring additional healthcare services to our community at little or no cost to patients. The efficiencies we gain through technology and infrastructure aren't about doing less. They're about being able to do more.
Our vision is to make services such as diabetes education, child health support, lactation consulting, and other important healthcare services more accessible for local families. Everyone deserves access to quality care, regardless of where they live or their ability to travel.
We hope that vision will become a reality in the coming months. If it doesn't happen as quickly as we'd like, we'll keep investing, exploring partnerships, and looking for new ways to make it happen for our community.
The benefits generated from these improvements won't be leaving Latrobe. They'll be reinvested into local healthcare services, community initiatives, sporting clubs, jobs for those that deliver more care and a friendly smile, and projects that improve the health and wellbeing of our region.
Because a stronger community starts with accessible healthcare, local investment, and people who care enough to give back. 💚
