We have multiple vacancies in one of our Supported Independent Living homes, and it's ready for new participants now.

Located in Newstead, Como sits on a quiet street close to shops, medical services, local pharmacy and public transport. It's a comfortable home on a large flat block, with barbecue and outdoor area.

Vacancy for up to four people. Support is available seven days a week.

Three of the bedrooms are upstairs, so it suits people who can safely manage stairs. We're also happy to talk through a wider age range depending on requirements.

If you or someone you support might be interested, get in touch at [email protected] or call (03) 6331 7651 and we can have a chat about whether it's the right fit.

After a trip to the garden section, Jo has taken up planting. There's something pretty special about getting your hands in the dirt and watching what comes up. We'll be keeping an eye on how these ones go.

Christmas in July delivered exactly what it promised - a roast dinner, a fashion parade that stole the show, and a room full of smiles.

The Merrington Centre was full of festive cheer as our residential community came together for the evening, with the fashion parade proving a hit during what was a relaxing and enjoyable dinner.

A big thank you to our Residential team for pulling it all together, and to Declan and Oscar for pitching in wherever they were needed throughout the night!

Here's a sneak peek of the evening. More photos to come in our next newsletter.

❄️ Big Freeze 12 - done and dusted.

Last week, St Michael's got behind the Fight MND Big Freeze campaign in the best possible way. Mike, Kevin and Meg all took their seats outside the Merrington Centre and promptly received the ice bucket treatment from some very enthusiastic volunteers!

All three were outstanding sports about it. The reactions said it all.
Big Freeze is a national campaign raising awareness and funds for Motor Neurone Disease Australia, and we're proud to have played our small part in building its awareness again this year.

A huge thank you to our 'freezers' Mike, Kevin and Meg for taking the plunge, and to everyone who came out to cheer them on.

Who should we shower next year?!
