Yesterday our team members joined the Lifelong Respect Walk in Launceston to help shine a light on elder abuse and the importance of treating older people with care and respect. 💜

Elder abuse affects around 1 in 6 older Australians. This is a reminder that we all have a part to play in supporting older people in our families and communities.

It was great to walk together, talk with others and show our support for older people to live safely and with respect.

Thank you to COTA (Council On The Ageing) Tasmania and everyone who took part. Together, we can help make a difference. 🤝

Do you know the name of this monument and the town where you’ll find it? Drop your best guesses in the comments. 👇 Where do you think our team were?

Today is International Nurses Day, and we want to say a heartfelt thank you to the nurses across Salveo Healthcare. 🌟

Every day, our nurses make a real difference in the lives of our clients through their care, skill and kindness. 🩺🩹

This year’s theme, Our Nurses. Our Future. Empowered Nurses Save Lives, reminds us how important it is to support nurses with safe workplaces, learning opportunities, and a strong voice in the care we provide.

To all of our nurses, thank you for the care, comfort and support you give to our clients, families and community each day. 🙏 We are so grateful for you.

Can you guess where we’ve been this week? 🤔

Our nursing and allied health team has been out and about across Tasmania, delivering preventative health and chronic disease management programs to people in their homes and communities.

This week’s photo gives a few clues: a huge structure looming over the town, a redbrick building and a small engine out front 🧱🚂.

Do you know the name of the town where you’ll find this view? Drop your best guesses in the comments 👇 Where do you think our team were?

Tuesday, May 5th is World Asthma Day. Did you know that asthma affects more than one in eight people in Tasmania?

This year’s theme highlights an urgent need: Everyone with asthma should have access to anti-inflammatory inhalers.

Because asthma isn’t just symptoms, it’s inflammation in the lungs.

Treating that inflammation – by using an anti-inflammatory inhaler instead of just a blue puffer for people aged 12 and over – can help reduce the risk of serious flare-ups and asthma attacks.

Complete Asthma Australia’s new Asthma Check In to take to your appointment with your doctor and ask if an anti-inflammatory inhaler is right for you. ✨

Today is International Day of the Midwife 🎉

We’re taking a moment to say a huge THANK YOU to our amazing midwives and lactation consultants who support families through the St Lukes Private Postnatal Service and our antenatal breastfeeding education sessions.

Here’s the impact this team is making:
🤰Since 2017, we’ve supported 850+ women and 1100+ babies across the North and North West of Tasmania
👩‍⚕️Care is delivered by a dedicated team of Midwives
🧑‍🍼Our antenatal classes help expecting parents feel more confident before baby arrives

One mum shared this lovely feedback: “She was so calming, so compassionate… the best ‘mum cheerleader’ you could ask for.”

To our midwives: thank you for the calm, the care, and the expert support you provide every day. You make a real difference for families in our community.
