September is Sepsis Awareness Month.
Sepsis can worsen very quickly and needs urgent medical attention as it can be life-threatening.
Early on it may look like other common infections like flu or UTI.
Symptoms can include:
Feeling very hot or cold, confused or very tired, not weeing much, difficulty breathing, and a blotchy purply rash may appear.
Always ask “Could it be sepsis?” and contact your GP, Health Direct (1800 022 222), hospital emergency or call 000.
