A little update:

Due to the passing of my mother, I'll be taking a short break.

To those whose appointments I've had to cancel, thank you for your understanding. I apologise for the inconvenience, and I'll be in touch to reschedule once I'm back home.

If you've been considering booking an appointment, I'll let you know when I'm back and appointments are available again.

Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time.

The body has an amazing ability to adapt.

Sometimes it adapts so well that you stop noticing what's changed.

Many times we think food reactions come out of nowhere.

But when we look back, there have usually been little clues along the way - changes in digestion, sleep changes, fluctuating stress levels and changes in the skin.

The body usually gives clues, but mostly our lives are so busy we don't take the time to pay attention.

People often wait until something is really bothering them before they seek support.

The thing is, the body is usually communicating long before that.

Changes in sleep. Digestive changes. More tension. Less patience.

Feeling overwhelmed by things that normally wouldn't bother you.

The body is telling you something has changed and it's working harder to adapt.

I love eating out, especially breakfast, but these days I need to be a bit careful about what I order.

I don't usually eat a lot of bread, can't eat eggs - they make me feel sick, and bacon doesn't sit well with me either. Bacon and eggs used to be my go-to breakfast.

For a while I'd order smashed av and swap the egg for smoked salmon. Now even the smoked salmon can be an issue, as is the balsamic glaze that often comes drizzled over the plate.

My forehead goes bright red and feels like it's on fire. If I ignore the warning signs and keep eating the things that affect me, I'll often wake up the next day with red pimple like spots on my nose. If i'm not careful, a migraine usually follows.

I have a chef friend that changed careers after becoming anaphylaxis to shellfish. Maybe you know of someone this happened to as well.

Things we tolerate well at one stage of life doesn't always stay that way.

Have you noticed that the same food doesn't always affect you the same way?

A food can be fine for months, even years, and then suddenly something doesn't seem right.

You may not even realise the same thing you've always eaten is creating a silent little storm in your body.

Natural food chemicals such as amines, salicylates and glutamates can contribute to headaches, digestive changes, skin reactions, poor sleep, or feeling more irritable and unsettled.

Stress, sleep, hormones, illness, and life in general can all affect how the body responds to the foods you consume.

Kinesiology looks at what stress the body is carrying and supports the nervous system so the body can adapt more effectively.

The body has an incredible ability to adapt.

Sometimes we don't notice how much adapting it's doing until things start feeling harder than they used to.

That's often when people start looking for support.

Sometimes people come in focused on one symptom.

Sometimes they're not sure where to start and just want to see what comes up.

Sessions can take surprising directions, and often we're looking at a much bigger picture than what brought them in.

The body is very good at adapting.

What shows up on the surface isn't always where the stress is sitting.

Sometimes digestion isn't just about food.

Quite often people eat well but still don't feel quite right.

The body can be carrying stress for so long that it affects how everything functions.

When the nervous system is under load, digestion is often one of the places it shows up.

Kinesiology looks at what stress the body is holding and helps it settle so it can function more effectively.

The body is very good at coping. But coping doesn't always mean thriving.

Over time the body will hold tension, form compensations, and work harder than it needs to. This helps it keep going through stress, poor sleep, busy periods, and all sorts of demands.

You may then start noticing things like headaches, jaw tension, digestive changes, fatigue, or feeling constantly on edge.

Kinesiology helps identify where stress is sitting in the body and supports the nervous system to settle, so the body doesn't have to keep working quite so hard.
