📣 SARRAH Pre-Conference Workshop – Coffs Harbour

NCAHA members and North Coast allied health professionals may be interested in this upcoming SARRAH 2026 pre-conference workshop, being held right here in Coffs Harbour.

💻 Signal & Noise: Rural Allied Health and the Digital Health Agenda

This interactive workshop will explore how digital connectivity is shaping the future of rural allied health — including My Health Record, Share by Default, the National Allied Health Digital Uplift Plan and interoperability.

The workshop will also look at the realities facing rural allied health professionals, including workforce shortages, digital exclusion, connectivity challenges and the practical barriers to implementing new digital approaches.

Participants will share real-world experiences and explore what successful digital health and connected care could look like for rural allied health professionals and the communities they support.

Congratulations to Sarah Miles and Sarah Crook on their new appointments. NCAHA is proud to have such amazing people on our board doing amazing things.

Great news for our allied health team 🎉

We’re proud to see Sarah Crook, Occupational Therapy Clinical Educator, appointed to the Leadership Group of the new Allied Health Clinical Education Community of Practice, a national network helping shape the future of clinical education across Australia.

And there’s more. Sarah Miles, Team Leader of Clinical Education (Allied Health), has been appointed as a Leadership Fellow, supporting projects and initiatives that will strengthen allied health education nationwide.

These appointments mean rural voices and real-world experience from the Northern Rivers will help inform national conversations about rural health workforce development and the training of future health professionals.

The NCAHA board recently spoke about the challenges of allied health placements. The NCAHA supports Allied Health Professions Australia in advocating for the expansion of the Commonwealth Prac Payment to encompass all allied health students. This initiative would ensure equitable access to financial assistance for those undertaking essential practical placements across the allied health sector, strengthening the future workforce and improving health outcomes for communities.
