๐ŸŒฟ ๐Ÿฉท WOMEN'S HEALTH WEEK | 7โ€“11 SEPTEMBER ๐Ÿฉท ๐ŸŒฟ

When was the last time you stopped and asked:

How am I, really?

Not the family. Not work. Not everyone else who needs something from you.

You.

๐ŸŒฟ Monday - NOURISH
๐ŸŒ™ Tuesday - BALANCE
๐ŸŒผ Wednesday - RESTORE
โœจ Thursday - LISTEN
๐ŸŒน Friday - CONNECT

Each day we'll explore a different part of women's wellbeing- from nutrition, hormones and perimenopause to fatigue, sleep, stress, body awareness and connection- with a beautiful herbal ally joining us each day.

And we're finishing the week with something specialโ€ฆ

๐Ÿฉท WOMENโ€™S HEALTH WEEK 2026 ๐Ÿฉท

๐Ÿ’Ÿ Five Days of Coming Back to You ๐Ÿ’Ÿ

7โ€“11 September

When was the last time you truly checked in with yourself?

Not whether everyone else was okay.
Not what needed doing at work.
Not what was for dinner, who needed you, or what was next on the never-ending list.

โœจHow are you?

As women, our bodies move through many seasons.

Our hormones change. Our nutritional needs change. Our sleep, energy, mood and stress levels can change. And sometimes, amongst everything life asks of us, we become so used to pushing through that we stop noticing how *we* are actually travelling.

So this Womenโ€™s Health Week, I want to do something a little different.

No detox.

No diet.

No impossible wellness checklist.

And definitely no guilt about all the things you think you *should* be doing.

Instead, Iโ€™m inviting you to join me for:

๐Ÿ’Ÿ Five Days of Coming Back to You ๐Ÿ’Ÿ

Each day we'll explore one part of women's health and wellbeing, accompanied by one of my beautiful plant allies:

๐ŸŒฟ MONDAY - NOURISH
Giving our bodies what they need to thrive.

๐ŸŒ™ TUESDAY - BALANCE
Understanding our hormones and the changing seasons of a woman's body.

๐ŸŒผ WEDNESDAY - RESTORE
Fatigue, sleep, stress and what it really means to replenish ourselves.

๐ŸŒฟ THURSDAY - LISTEN
Learning to hear what our bodies are telling us and knowing when something deserves attention.

๐Ÿซถ FRIDAY - CONNECT
Coming back to ourselves, our people, our community and the natural world around us.

And on Thursday, we're taking the conversation beyond social mediaโ€ฆ

๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŒน WOMENโ€™S WELLNESS OPEN DAY ๐ŸŒน๐ŸŒฟ
Thursday 10 September | Inner Peace Holistic Herbal Therapy

The clinic doors will be open for herbal tea tasting, free samples, Women's Wellness Check-Ins, Ask the Herbalist, exploring the Clinic and our Women's Wellness Hamper Giveaway.

More about that during the week.

For today, I'd simply like you to sit with one question:

โœจHow am I, really?

Because perhaps caring for our health doesn't always begin with making a huge change.

Sometimes it begins by noticing.

Five days.
Five conversations.
Five beautiful plant allies.

๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ’šAnd one relationship worth tending - the one you have with yourself. ๐Ÿ’š๐ŸŒฟ

๐Ÿ’ŸWelcome to Five Days of Coming Back to You๐Ÿ’Ÿ

Womenโ€™s Health Week is just around the corner, and this year at Inner Peace I wanted to do a little more than simply share a post or two.

So from 7โ€“11 September, Iโ€™ll be sharing:

๐Ÿฉท Five Days of Coming Back to You๐Ÿฉท

Five days devoted to some of the things that matter deeply to womenโ€™s health and wellbeing:

NOURISH โ€ข BALANCE โ€ข RESTORE โ€ข LISTEN โ€ข CONNECT

Weโ€™ll talk about nourishment and energy, hormones and changing bodies, fatigue and rest, listening when something doesnโ€™t feel quite right, and the importance of connection - with a beautiful herbal ally joining us each day.

But thereโ€™s something else happening tooโ€ฆ

๐ŸŒ•FULL MOON PARTIAL LUNAR ECLIPSE IN PISCES โ™“
Friday 28 August 2026 | Southern Hemisphere

There is something stirring beneath this August Full Moon.

Reaching her peak at 2:18 pm AEST, the Moon moves through the deep, watery realm of Pisces, while across the zodiac the Sun stands in earthy Virgo- bringing intuition and practicality, surrender and discernment, into conversation beneath this powerful partial lunar eclipse.

Here in Australia we won't actually see the eclipse itself, as it happens while the Moon is below our horizon.

But there is something beautifully fitting about that for a Pisces Moon.

* Change happening unseen.
* Something shifting beneath the surface.
* A chapter quietly coming to completion.

โ™“ THE ASTROLOGY
Pisces is the sign of intuition, dreams, compassion, emotion and surrender.
Across the sky sits Virgo- connected with our health, routines, organisation, discernment and the practical details of everyday life.

Together they ask us to find the space between trusting and doing.

Where are you trying to control something that needs room to unfold?

And where might you be waiting for change when what you really need is one small, practical step?

This eclipse is also part of a longer Virgo - Pisces eclipse story that began back in September 2024.

It may be worth asking yourself:
โœจ What has changed within me since then?
โœจ What have I outgrown?
โœจ What am I ready to stop carrying?
โœจ Where is my intuition asking me to listen?

๐ŸŒฟ HERBAL ALLIES
For this gentle, watery Pisces Moon, I'm reaching for:
๐ŸŒฟ Lemon Balm- nervous system support, softness and lightness
๐ŸŒฟ Chamomile- calm, rest and gentle reflection
๐ŸŒฟ Lavender- peace, cleansing and quietening the mind
๐ŸŒฟ Mugwort- traditionally associated with dreams, intuition and lunar work

โ˜• FULL MOON TEA
2 parts Lemon Balm
1 part Chamomile
ยฝ part Lavender

Steep covered for 7 - 10 minutes.
Hold your cup between your hands for a moment before drinking. Breathe in the plants. Honour where they came from- soil, rain, sunlight and season- and drink slowly.

๐ŸŒ‘ A LITTLE ECLIPSE RITUAL
This isn't a Moon where I feel we need to do too much.
Instead, light a candle, make your tea and sit quietly for a while.
Write down one thing you know you have outgrown.

Then simply say:
- I honour what has brought me here; I release what has completed its season; I trust what is unfolding.

And leave it there.

No forcing. No rushing.

Later, when the Moon rises over our Southern Hemisphere sky, perhaps step outside for a moment and look up.
The eclipse will already have passed unseen.
And yet the Moon will rise whole and bright again.
Perhaps that's the message of this one.

๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŒ•Not every transformation needs to be witnessed to be real๐ŸŒ•๐ŸŒฟ

Even beneath the coldest soil, life is already beginning to awaken. ๐ŸŒฟ

Around the 1st - 2nd of August, we reach Imbolc- the first of the spring festivals on the Wheel of the Year here in the Southern Hemisphere. Winter still holds the land, yet the signs are quietly appearing: the days lingering a little longer, the first wattles bursting into gold, the birds growing busier each morning.

Imbolc is the festival of Brigid, goddess and saint of healing, poetry and the sacred flame, and long regarded as the guardian of herbalists and healers. Her festival reminds us that transformation rarely begins with drama. It begins quietly. A little more energy. A fresh idea. The first glimpse of hope after a difficult season.

In my latest article on the Wellness Hub, I share:

๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ The ancient history of Imbolc and the story of Brigid
๐ŸŒผ Gentle herbal allies for early spring- nettle, cleavers, calendula, dandelion (Brigid's own flower), lemon balm and rosemary
๐Ÿต My Awakening Spring tea blend
โœจ A simple candle ritual to welcome the returning light

What is beginning to awaken in you this season?

๐ŸŒ• **Full Moon in Aquarius** ๐ŸŒ•
Thursday 30 July 2026 | Southern Hemisphere โ„๏ธโœจ

Tonight, the Full Moon rises high above our winter skies, reaching its peak in the sign of Aquarius. Traditionally known as the Buck Moon in the Northern Hemisphere, this moon symbolises quiet growth, resilience and renewal. While the name comes from the Northern Hemisphere, here in Australia it arrives during the heart of winter, a season that gently reminds us that some of our greatest growth happens beneath the surface.

Just as trees deepen their roots while their branches stand bare, we too are invited to slow down, restore our energy and trust that transformation is unfolding, even if we can't yet see the results.

Nature reminds us that not all growth needs to be visible.

Sometimes, our deepest transformation is happening quietly within us.

โ™’ The Aquarius Influence

Aquarius is often called the visionary of the zodiac. Ruled by Uranus, the planet of awakening and change, this Full Moon encourages us to look beyond old patterns and ask ourselves what is truly aligned with who we are becoming.

With the Sun in warm-hearted Leo and the Moon in independent Aquarius, we're invited to find a balance between expressing our authentic selves and contributing to something greater than ourselves.

Traditionally associated with community, freedom, individuality and new ideas, Aquarius encourages us to step back and see the bigger picture. This Full Moon may illuminate where we have been holding ourselves back, changing who we are to fit in, or continuing with patterns that no longer reflect the person we are becoming.

With the Sun in expressive Leo and the Moon in Aquarius, we are invited to find balance between honouring our own unique light and considering how that light can contribute to the wider world.

This Full Moon asks:

๐ŸŒฟ Where have I outgrown an old way of thinking or living?
๐ŸŒฟ Have I been hiding parts of myself to fit the expectations of others?
๐ŸŒฟ What changes would help me feel more free and authentic?
๐ŸŒฟ What kind of future am I creating through the choices I make today?
๐ŸŒฟ How can I honour my individuality while remaining connected to my community?

Aquarius reminds us that we do not need to follow the well-worn path simply because it is familiar.

Sometimes, healing begins when we give ourselves permission to choose differently.

๐ŸŒฟ Herbal Allies for the Aquarius Full Moon

The herbs accompanying this moon offer nourishment for the nervous system, comfort for the heart and support during times of reflection and change.

๐ŸŒพ Oat Straw

A deeply nourishing nervous-system herb, Oat Straw is traditionally used during periods of stress, nervous exhaustion and depletion. It reminds us that meaningful change does not always require greater effortโ€”sometimes we first need to restore what has been worn thin.

๐Ÿ‹ Lemon Balm

Bright, uplifting Lemon Balm helps settle tension while bringing a little lightness to a busy or overactive mind. It is a beautiful ally when Aquarius energy has us thinking far into the future or feeling mentally scattered.

๐ŸŒน Rose

Rose offers softness, compassion and emotional strength. During a Full Moon that calls us to embrace our authentic selves, Rose reminds us that we can grow and change without becoming hardened. We can hold healthy boundaries while keeping the heart open.

โค๏ธ Hawthorn

Hawthorn is traditionally associated with the physical and emotional heart. It offers a sense of courage, protection and gentle resilience, supporting us as we release old patterns and move towards a life that feels more aligned.

๐Ÿ’œ Lavender

Lavender helps create calm, clarity and a sense of peaceful spaciousness. Its soothing presence encourages us to slow our thoughts, release tension and listen more closely to our inner wisdom.

๐Ÿต Winter Moon Reflection Tea

A gentle tea to enjoy while journaling, resting or sitting beneath the moonlight.

๐ŸŒฟ 2 parts Oat Straw
๐ŸŒฟ 2 parts Lemon Balm
๐ŸŒฟ 1 part Hawthorn Leaf and Flower
๐ŸŒฟ 1 part Rose Petals
๐ŸŒฟ ยฝ part Lavender

Combine the dried herbs and store them in an airtight jar.

Add approximately one tablespoon of the blend to a cup or small teapot. Pour over freshly boiled water, cover and steep for 10โ€“15 minutes before straining.

Wrap yourself in a warm blanket, hold your cup between your hands and allow yourself a few quiet moments to simply breathe.

As you sip, reflect on:

โœจ What has been quietly growing within me this winter?
โœจ What am I now ready to release?
โœจ Where am I being called to choose a new path?
โœจ What would it feel like to live more freely and authentically?

You may like to write down one belief, expectation or old pattern that you are ready to leave behind.

Then write one intention for the path aheadโ€”not something you must force into being, but a small seed you are willing to nurture as the light slowly returns.

May this Full Moon bring clarity to your mind, courage to your heart and trust in the quiet transformation already unfolding within you.

Blessed Full Moon ๐ŸŒ•โ„๏ธ๐ŸŒฟ

๐ŸŒฟ Herbal Highlights | Winter Herb Series- Part 4: Thyme

It is one of the most underestimated herbs in winter wellness and one of the most impressive.

Most people reach past the thyme in the spice rack without a second thought. But Thymus vulgaris is, in fact, one of the most clinically well-supported herbs we have for respiratory health- with a body of evidence substantial enough to have earned formal recognition from the European Medicines Agency for its use in coughs and upper respiratory catarrh.

Here is why thyme stands apart from other winter herbs:

While elderberry, echinacea, and ginger (Parts 1โ€“3 of this series) offer broad immune and anti-infective support, thyme is the herb most specifically targeted at the respiratory tract. It works on three levels simultaneously:

๐ŸŒฟ Antimicrobial- thymol, thyme's primary active compound, has demonstrated broad-spectrum activity against the bacteria and viruses responsible for many winter respiratory infections. It is so effective as an antimicrobial that it is used as an active ingredient in mainstream antiseptic mouthwashes and disinfectant products.
๐ŸŒฟ Expectorant- thyme stimulates mucociliary clearance, helping to loosen and move thick, congested mucus from the airways, providing real, measurable relief for chest colds and productive coughs.
๐ŸŒฟ Antispasmodic- thyme relaxes the smooth muscle of the bronchial tubes, calming the spasmodic, irritable cough that so often lingers long after the acute infection has resolved.

Clinical trials by Kemmerich et al. (2006, 2007) demonstrated that thyme preparations significantly reduced cough frequency and severity and shortened the duration of acute bronchitis.

Part 4 of our Winter Herb Series is now live in the Herbal Highlights section of the Wellness Hub. In the full article you will find:

๐Ÿต Medicinal thyme tea, including the covering step that most people miss
๐Ÿฏ A classic thyme oxymel- one of the most effective home cough remedies you can make

๐Ÿ’ฌ Thyme is one of those herbs that surprises people when they discover how much medicine is in it. Have you ever used it for more than cooking? We'd love to hear your experience below.

23/07/2026

๐ŸŒฟ Here's the thing about natural remedies- and colds specifically.

Most people reach for support on day two or three of being unwell. By that point they're on the couch, feeling truly awful, and reaching for anything that might help. And in that window, many natural interventions are working against an established infection, an already-mounted immune response, and inflammation that is already underway.

The window where the most effective herbal interventions do their most meaningful work has often already passed.

This is why timing is one of the most important variables in herbal medicine for acute illness- and why so many people try elderberry or echinacea once, during a fully established cold, feel underwhelmed, and conclude the herb "doesn't work."

The moment that actually matters tends to be the one most people dismiss entirely and push straight through.

๐Ÿค’ The slightly scratchy throat at 4pm that doesn't quite feel like a sore throat yet. The unusual tiredness that isn't fully explained by how busy the day was. A faint heaviness behind the eyes. The vague, pre-symptomatic sense that something is quietly beginning, before any clear symptom has declared itself.

That moment- dismissed as "probably nothing", is the window where elderberry's antiviral activity is most clinically relevant, and where echinacea's immune activation does its most effective work.

Not when you're already several days into an illness. In the hour or two before the illness fully takes hold.

The practical implication: learn your personal early warning signs, keep your remedies visible and accessible, and act on the first subtle signal rather than waiting for certainty.

Parts 1 and 2 of our Winter Herb Series- Elderberry and Echinacea- cover both herbs in full, including timing and dosing guidance. Find them in the Herbal Highlights section of our Wellness Hub.

๐Ÿ’ฌ What's your personal early warning sign that a cold is coming? That first subtle signal your body gives you before anything is obvious? I'd love to hear below.

โ˜• An honest question today, following our Part 3 article on Ginger.

Hot water with lemon and ginger- where does it actually sit in your daily life?

๐Ÿซš Is it the first thing you reach for every morning, before anything else- a genuine non-negotiable that has become as automatic as brushing your teeth?
๐Ÿซš Is it something that appears when you feel a cold coming on, or when the weather turns particularly bitter, but doesn't quite make it into the everyday routine?
๐Ÿซš Is it something you mean to do more consistently, that makes an appearance and then quietly disappears again for weeks?
๐ŸซšOr is it something you've genuinely never made a regular habit of, despite knowing it would probably serve you?

Consistency is genuinely the hardest part of any wellness practice.
But here's what I do know from both clinical observation and the research: ginger, used consistently through the whole winter season, produces a cumulative effect on circulation, inflammation, and immune function that isolated, occasional use simply can't match. The people who make it a daily non-negotiable genuinely notice the difference by mid-winter.

Three slices of fresh ginger. Hot water. A squeeze of lemon. A little raw honey if you like. That's it. That's medicine. Simple, accessible, and deeply effective when it's consistent.

๐Ÿ’ฌWhere do you land and what would it take to make this a genuine morning ritual this winter?

๐Ÿซš Herbal Highlights | Winter Herb Series- Part 3: Ginger

It is quite likely sitting in your kitchen right now. And it is one of the most versatile and well-researched medicinal plants in the world.

Ginger (Zingiber officinale) has been used as medicine for over 5,000 years- across Ayurveda, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and European herbal practice.

In winter specifically, ginger addresses multiple needs at once- which is what makes it such a standout seasonal herb:
๐Ÿ”ฅ It warms peripheral circulation, helping those who feel the cold deeply.
๐ŸŒฟ It supports immune function and has demonstrated antiviral activity against common respiratory pathogens.
๐Ÿ’Š It works as a natural anti-inflammatory, inhibiting the same pathways as conventional NSAIDs- without the gastrointestinal side effects associated with long-term NSAID use.
๐Ÿซš It supports digestion, which tends to slow in winter, improving the absorption of nutrients the immune system depends on.

There is also an important distinction between fresh and dried ginger that makes a real clinical difference. Fresh ginger is best for early-stage colds with chills- it warms the surface and promotes healthy diaphoresis. Dried ginger penetrates more deeply, with stronger anti-inflammatory and digestive actions. Using both gives you the broadest benefit.

๐ŸŒฟ Winter wellness, one herb at a time.
