HAPPENING TODAY

🚨AusAlert is a new national emergency warning system being introduced by the Australian Government. It is designed to send urgent information to compatible mobile devices during emergencies such as bushfires, floods, cyclones, tsunamis, public health events, security threats and biosecurity incidents. The system is planned to go live on 1 October 2026 and will be tested in selected communities before launch

📍Liverpool has been selected for community testing.
At around 4:00 pm on Wednesday 17 June 2026, some people in the Liverpool area may receive a test alert on their mobile phone, tablet or smart watch. The alert is part of system checks to ensure messages are delivered correctly before the national rollout.

🤳The test alert is not an SMS or text message.
It will appear as a notification on the device screen and may interrupt calls or apps. The message will trigger a loud siren-like sound and vibration lasting about 10 seconds. Users will need to clear the notification to remove it from the screen.

Compatible devices include selected iPhones and Android phones and tablets. iPhone 11 and later running iOS 26.4 or later and Android devices running Android 12 or later are expected to receive AusAlerts. People do not need to take any action when receiving the test. In a real emergency, the alert will include details about the type of hazard, location, severity and instructions to follow.

❗Important ❗
If someone receives the alert while driving, they should not interact with the device and should only read the message when it is safe and legal to do so. If a person does not receive the test, it may be due to device compatibility, coverage, or being outside the alert area. No action is required in that case.

Rabia is a Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist with four years of experience working across school and clinic settings. She has experience supporting children from early intervention through to young adulthood to develop their speech, language, literacy, and social communication skills across a range of learning environments.

Rabia is particularly passionate about supporting children to develop reading and writing skills and works collaboratively with families, teachers, and other professionals to promote meaningful participation in the classroom and at home. Rabia is a strong advocate for her clients and takes a strengths-based, supportive approach to ensure each child’s individual needs are understood, valued, and supported.

Lovan is a dedicated AHPRA registered psychologist with years of experience working with individuals across the lifespan through psychological intervention and behaviour therapy; he has supported provisional psychologists through team leadership and expanded his training ability to serve as a senior behaviour support training manager for NSW State.

Lovan employs an empathic approach in assessing and providing treatment/support for various diagnoses including but not limited to Autism Spectrum (ASD), clients with Intellectual Disability and/or presenting with disorders of PTSD, Anxiety, Depression, Schizophrenia, Psychosis, DID, BPD, ODD, OCD and has supported some of the most complex cases with multiple diagnoses and extreme behaviours throughout his experience in the field.

Lovan utilises a range of interventions and modalities tailored to meet the unique needs of his clients such as Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), which addresses dysfunctional thought patterns and behaviours, proving effective for issues like depression, anxiety, and PTSD; Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) for borderline personality disorder, integrating CBT techniques with mindfulness and emotional regulation strategies. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) which is used to encourage his clients to accept their thoughts and feelings and commit to value-driven actions. For children and adolescents who have difficulty engaging directly in psychological intervention, he employs Play Therapy as a non-verbal expressive avenue. These modalities can be delivered in individual face-to-face or digital (telehealth) settings, ensuring flexibility and accessibility for his clients. De Lovan employs his intervention through a clinical assessment, client preferences, and the latest evidence-based practices. When engaged in behaviour therapy, De Lovan aims to involve family and other allied health services that are available to the client in the process of intervention to achieve outcomes.
